Classification3.1 T
7、ypes used to identify the principal polymer componentof the sheet include:Type I: Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer (EPDM); and,Type II: Butyl (IIR)3.2 The mass percentage of the principal polymer in relationto the total polymer shall be greater than 95 %.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 The sheet
8、shall be formulated from the appropriatepolymers and other compounding ingredients. The principlepolymer used in the sheet shall be one of those listed in 3.1 inaccordance with the percentage listed in 3.2.4.2 The sheet shall be capable of being bonded to itself formaking field splices and repairs,
9、and the manufacturer shallrecommend bonding methods and materials.5. Physical Requirements5.1 The sheet shall conform to the physical requirementsprescribed in Table 1. Other requirements shall be agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the supplier.6. Dimensions and Permissible Variations6.1 The width
10、 and length of the sheet shall be agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the supplier. The width and lengthtolerance shall be +3, 0 %.6.2 Sheet thickness greater than the minimum shall beagreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier. Thethickness tolerance shall be +15, 10 % of the specifiedthick
11、ness, but in no case shall the thickness be less than theminimum listed in Table 1.7. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance7.1 The sheet shall be watertight and visually free ofpinholes, particles of foreign matter, undispersed raw material,or other manufacturing defects that might affect serviceabili

Rejection and Resubmittal9.1 Failure to conform to any of the requirements p
20、rescribedin this specification shall constitute grounds for rejection. Incase of rejection, the seller shall have the right to reinspect therejected material and resubmit the lot after removal of that notconforming to the requirements.9.2 Inspection of the material shall be agreed upon betweenthe pu
21、rchaser and the supplier.10. Product Labeling10.1 The sheet shall be identified on the side intended to beexposed to the weather with this specification number and type,the name of the manufacturer or supplier, or the generic sheettype. The type of identification mark is at the manufacturersoption.
22、Such identification shall occur at intervals not to exceed10 ft on center in the long direction of the sheet and shall beapplied in such a manner as to be legible at least five yearsfrom installation. Identification shall not be required whenspecified by purchaser.11. Packaging and Package Marking11
23、.1 The material shall be rolled on a substantial core andpackaged in a standard commercial manner, unless otherwisespecified in the contract or order.11.2 Shipping containers shall be marked with the type ofthe material, the stock number, lot number, ASTM designationnumber, type, size, and quantity
24、therein as defined by thecontract or order under which shipment is made, the name ofthe manufacturer or supplier.ASTM International takes no position respecting the validity of any patent rights asserted in connection with any item mentionedin this standard.
