Scope1.1 This specification covers prefabricated modified bitumi-nous sheet materials reinforced with a combination of polyesterfabric and glass fiber, with or without granules, which usestyrene butadiene styrene (SBS) thermoplastic elastomer as theprimary modifi
4、er and are intended for use in the fabrication ofmultiple ply roofing and waterproofing membranes.1.2 This specification is intended as a material specificationonly. Issues regarding the suitability of the specific roofconstructions or application techniques are beyond this scope.1.3 The specified t
5、ests and property limits used to charac-terize the sheet materials are intended to establish minimumproperties. In-place roof system design criteria such as fireresistance, field strength, impact/puncture resistance, materialcompatibility, uplift resistance, and others, are factors beyondthe scope o

Classifications4.1 Modified bituminous sheet materials reinforced with acombination of polyester fabric and glass fiber reinforcement,Type I, Type II and Type III are covered by this specification.4.2 The following grades are used to describe the materialsurfacing:4.2.1
9、Grade GGranule surfaced.4.2.2 Grade SSmooth surfaced.5. Material and Manufacture5.1 In the process of manufacture, the reinforcement issaturated with asphalt or modified asphalt and is impregnatedand coated on both sides with an SBS modified bituminouscoating. The SBS modified bituminous coating sha
10、ll be per-mitted to be compounded with a mineral stabilizer.5.2 The Grade G sheet is surfaced on the weather side withmineral granules, except for any selvage. To prevent sticking inthe roll, the reverse side and any selvage shall be permitted tobe covered with a mineral or any other surfacing that
11、will notinterfere with adhesion or bonding of the lap during applica-tion.5.3 Sheet material intended for application by heat welding(torching) shall meet the minimum bottom coating requirementfound in Table 1.6. Physical Properties6.1 The sheet shall conform to the minimum physicalproperties prescr

Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 The finished product shall be coated completely in acontinuous, unbroken film and shall be free of such defects asholes, tears, cracks, wrinkles or permanent deformations,blisters, ragged or untrue e
24、dges, and areas of uncoated rein-forcement.8.2 The surface of the weather side shall be uniform infinish and texture.8.3 For Grade G material, the mineral granules shall bedistributed uniformly over the entire surface in an even layerexcluding any selvage, shall be embedded firmly in the SBSmodified
25、 bituminous coating, and the line of demarcationbetween the granule-surfaced portion of the weather side andany selvage shall be straight and parallel to the edges of thesheet.8.4 When unrolled on a smooth plane, the sheet shall bestraight and true so that the lap will mate with the adjacentsheet wi
26、thin the tolerance for the lap without wrinkles, buckles,or fishmouths.9. Inspection10.1 InspectionInspection shall be in accordance with therequirements of this specification.10.2 Inspection AlternativesAlternative inspection re-quirements shall be determined by and as agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and supplier.11. Rejection and Resubmittal11.1 Failure to Co
28、nformFailure to conform to any of therequirements as stated in this specification constitutes groundsfor rejection.11.2 Rejection RedressThe supplier shall have the right toinspect the rejected materials. The supplier and the purchasershall agree to the quantity of rolls deemed unacceptable. Thesupp
29、lier shall then have the right to submit the same number ofnew rolls as replacement.12. Packaging and Package Marking12.1 The finished material shall be furnished as rolls. Therolls shall be wrapped securely to prevent shifting of materialand to permit normal handling. If a roll contains a manufac-t
30、uring splice, the splice shall be marked clearly; no roll shallcontain more than one splice or two pieces.12.2 Unless otherwise agreed upon by the supplier andpurchaser, each product package shall be marked plainly withthe suppliers name, the product name, the ASTM designationincluding type and grad
31、e, the net coverage, and the type ofbitumen, if not evident in the label name of the product.13.
