、Designation: D6163/D6163M 00 (Reapproved 2015)1Standard Specification forStyrene Butadiene Styrene (SBS) Modified BituminousSheet Materials Using Glass Fiber Reinforcements1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D6163/D6163M; the number immediately following the designation indicates th

、eyear of original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of lastreapproval. A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1NOTEUnits information was editorially corrected in January 20

、15.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers prefabricated modified bitumi-nous sheet materials with glass fiber reinforcement, with orwithout granules, that use styrene butadiene styrene (SBS)thermoplastic elastomer as the primary modifier and areintended for use in the fabrication of multiple ply roof

、ing andwaterproofing membranes.1.2 This specification is intended as a material specificationonly. Issues regarding the suitability of the specific roofconstructions or application techniques are beyond this scope.1.3 The specified tests and property limits used to charac-terize the sheet materials

、are intended to establish minimumproperties. In-place roof system design criteria, such as fireresistance, field strength, impact/puncture resistance, materialcompatibility, uplift resistance, and others, are factors beyondthe scope of this material specification.1.4 The values stated in either SI u

、nits or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.2. Referenced Documents
