A space must be used as aseparator between the spec
25、ification number and the typedesignation. No separators are needed between type, class andgrade. When special notes are to be included, such informationshall be preceded by a comma. Special tolerances must benoted at time of order and are inserted after the grade inparentheses and preceded by a comm
26、a.5. Ordering Information5.1 All shapes covered by this specification shall be orderedusing the proper callout designation (see 4.5).6. Physical Property Requirements6.1 The physical property values listed within this specifi-cations tables are to be considered minimum specificationvalues. Any requi
27、rement for specific test data for a givenproduction lot shall be specified at the time of order. Use TableD6261 1421 to specify physical properties for extruded or compressionmolded products not yet included in Table S-TPES.7. Dimensional Requirements7.1 The type, class and grade is differentiated b
28、ased ondimensional stability (elevated temperature excursion test), asindicated in Table S-TPES.7.2 Products shall be produced within commercial toler-ances and with the lowest stress levels for machined parts asdelineated in Tables A and B.7.3 Tubular bar dimensions shall be supplied in the unfin-i
29、shed condition, unless otherwise specified at time of order,sufficient to finish to the nominal dimension ordered.7.4 The maximum allowable camber or bow or both, shallbe within the limits referenced in Tables A and B.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 AppearanceThe resin material color is wh
30、ite to off-white. The product color shall be as published by the shapesmanufacturer. They shall be uniform in color throughout thethickness. The specific colors and color matching shall only beas agreed to by order. It is possible that other colors will affectphysical properties.8.2 FinishAll produc
31、ts shall be free of blisters, wrinkles,cracks, gouges and defects that restrict commercial use of theproduct. Special surface finish shall be supplied only whenspecified in the purchase order or contract.8.3 DefectsAll products shall be free of voids, dirt,foreign material and embedded particles exc
32、eeding132 in. (0.8mm) maximum diameter as defined in 8.3.1.8.3.1 The criteria for determining the internal cleanlinessshall be external visual inspection. A maximum number of twointernal defects per square foot of plate and one foot length ofrod and tubular bar are allowed. Clusters of defects less
33、than132 in. (0.8 mm) diameter are to be counted as a single defect.9. Sampling9.1 Sampling shall be statistically adequate to satisfy therequirements of this specification as applicable.9.2 For purposes of sampling, an inspection lot for exami-nation and tests shall consist of all material of the sa
34、me type,class, grade and nominal size submitted for inspection at onetime.10. Number of Tests10.1 Routine lot inspection shall consist of all the criteriaspecified in the applicable product tables.10.2 The criteria listed in these product tables and defini-tions are sufficient to establish conformit
35、y of the sheet, plate,rod or tubular bars to this specification. When the number oftest specimens is not stated in the test method, it is acceptableto make a single determination. If more than single determi-nations and separate portions of the same sample are made, theresults shall be averaged. The
36、 final result shall conform to therequirements prescribed in this specification.11. Test Conditions11.1 Conditioning of SpecimensThe specification valuesand dimensions are based on conditioning techniques outlinedin Procedure A of Practice D618.11.2 Standard TemperatureThe tests shall be conducted a
37、tthe standard laboratory temperature of 73.4 6 3.6F (23 62C) and 50 6 10 % relative humidity.12. Test Methods12.1 Tensile stress break, elongation at break, and tensilemodulus (tangent) are in accordance with Test Method D638,at the rate of 0.2 in. (5 mm)/min.12.1.1 All plate specimens are in accord
38、ance with TestMethod D638, Type I.12.1.2 All rod specimens are in accordance with TestMethod D638.12.1.3 All tubular bar specimens are in accordance with TestMethod D638.12.2 Dimensional Stability:12.2.1 Specimen Preparation (a Minimum of Three TestSamples Required):12.2.1.1 Rods and Tubular BarPrep
39、are each specimen bycutting a 1.5 in. (35 mm) long slice from the shape to be tested.Machine the slice using a coolant and good machining prac-tices to a length of 1000 6 0.005 in. (25 6 0.13 mm). Each endof the specimen shall have a machined surface.12.2.1.2 PlateEach specimen shall consist of a 2
40、in. (50mm) diameter disc machined from the flat (diameter shall equaltest specimen thickness with a minimum of 2.0 in. (50 mm).The same care shall be used in the machining as described in12.1.1. The thickness of the specimen shall be that of theoriginal flat from which it was cut, no machining being
41、 done onthe top or bottom faces.12.2.2 Testing ProcedureMeasure the outside diameterand thickness or length of the specimen as applicable at 73.4 61.8F (23 6 1C) to the nearest 0.0001 in. (0.0025 mm). Allmeasurements shall be done on the centerline and 90 from thecenter line for plate. Also take mea
42、surements for thicknesshalfway to center, and for diameter at mid-point. Place thespecimen in a bath consisting of polyalkylene glycol or an aircirculating oven heated to the temperatures shown below.After6 h, allow the specimen to slowly cool to room temperature ata rate not to exceed 40F (22C)/h.

(1)12.3 Lengthwise Camber and Widthwise Bow:12.3.1 Make all measurements for camber and bow usingthe maximum distance rod, sheet or plate deviates from thestraight line extended from edge to

The shape shall be oriented such thatthe weight of the product doesnt influence the results.12.3.2 Rod and Plate:12.3.2.1 RodLay each rod on its side and measure it withconcave side facing a straight edge. Specimens shall bemachined from shape in accordance with the Test Specimenssection in Test Method D790.12.6 Izod impact is measured in accordance with
49、TestMethod D256, Method A, Fig. 4, notched. Specimens shall bemachined from shape in accordance with Test Method D256,Fig. 6 with14 in. (6.4 mm) width maximum specimen.13. Certification13.1 When requested at the time of order, the purchasershall be furnished a certification that the lot is made from therequired thermoplastic polyester plastic (percent recycle, ifapplicable) and meets the requirements of this specification.14. Packing, Packaging and Marking14.1 All packing, packaging, and marking provisions ofPractice D3892 sh
