3、ers andretail organizations. The measurements were derived originally from the 1970 Voluntary ProductStandard PS36-70 by the U.S. Department of Commerce National Bureau of Standards.These tables were developed from data published by the U.S. Department of Commerce. These datawere based on original r
4、esearch conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture2in the 1930s. Thisstandard takes into consideration childrens growth patterns reflected in the 1980 charts for theNational Center for Health Statistics3and the 1977Anthropometric Study of U.S. Infants and Childrenconducted by the University of
5、Michigan4and 2000 CDC Growth Charts for the United States5andCDC Advance Data No. 361, Dated 7/5/2005. All sudden shifts of proportion have been eliminated soas to reflect the gradual growth and development of the child. To verify the proposed bodymeasurements, a three-dimensional Avatar was created
6、 in the size range by Alvanon Inc.6for a visualreference and also attached in the documentation.1. Scope1.1These tables list body measurements of boys, sizes 8 to 14 Slim and 8 to 20 Regular. Although these are body measurements,they can be used as a baseline in designing apparel for boys and studen

Slim subjects are of same stature (height), with a slimmer body,and lower body weight than regular subjects as illustrated by the m

17、ation in Tables 1-4 will assist manufacturers in developing patterns and garmentsthat are consistent with the current anthropometric characteristics of the population of interest.
