Terminology3.1 DefinitionsFor definitions of terms used in this speci-fication, refer to Terminology D 1079.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 In the manufacturing process,
9、 the reinforcement isimpregnated and coated on both sides in an APP-modifiedbituminous coating. The APP-modified bituminous coatingmay be compounded with a mineral stabilizer.4.2 The base sheet may be surfaced with mineral matter toprevent sticking in the roll. The reverse side may be coveredwith a
10、thin polyolefin film or with other surfacing that will notinterfere with adhesion or bonding of the sheet during appli-cation.5. Physical Properties5.1 The sheet shall conform to the minimum physicalproperties described in Table 1.5.2 The finished product shall not crack or be so sticky as tocause t
11、earing or other material damage upon being unrolled atany product temperature between 4 and 60C (40 and140F).6. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations6.1 The finished product shall conform to the followingdimensions and variations:6.1.1 The width of the roll shall be as agreed upon betweenthe
12、purchaser and the supplier and shall not vary more than1%.6.1.2 The area of the roll shall be no less than as agreedupon between the purchaser and the supplier.6.1.3 The selvage width shall be within 6 mm (14 in.) of thenominal selvage width and shall be not less than 76 mm (3 in.)in width from the
13、edge of the sheet.6.2 The mass and thickness of the finished product shall beas prescribed in Table 2.7. Workmanship, Finish and Appearance7.1 The finished product shall be uniformly impregnatedand coated with atactic polypropylene (APP)-modified bitu-men. It shall be free of visible defects, such a
14、s holes, ragged oruntrue edges, breaks, cracks, tears, and protrusions.7.2 When unrolled on a smooth plane, the sheet shall bestraight and true so that the lap will mate with an adjacentsheet, within the tolerance for the lap without wrinkles,buckles, or fishmouths.1This specification is under the j

Sampling and Test Methods8.1 Sample the material and determine the properties de-scribed in this specification in accordance with Test MethodsD 5147 unless otherwise indicated.8.2 High Temperature StabilitySample the material anddetermine the hig
17、h temperature stability in accordance withTest Methods D 5147 and as described herein. Report thehighest test temperature at which flowing, dripping, or dropformation does not occur. Materials shall be permitted to betested in 5.5C (10F) increments.8.3 Low Temperature UnrollingSample the material an
18、ddetermine the low temperature unrolling in accordance withTest Method D 5636 and as described herein. Report the lowesttest temperature at which none of the specimens show crackingor surface rupture. The temperature, at or below which theproduct must pass, is stated in Table 1.9. Inspection9.1 Insp
19、ectionInspection shall be in accordance with thisspecification.9.2 Inspection AlternativesAlternative inspection require-ments shall be determined by and as agreed upon between thepurchaser and the supplier.10. Rejection and Resubmittal10.1 Failure to ConformFailure to conform to any of therequireme
20、nts as stated in this specification constitutes groundsfor rejection.10.2 Rejection RedressThe supplier shall have the right toinspect the rejected materials. The supplier and the purchasershall agree to the quantity of rolls deemed unacceptable. Thesupplier shall then have the right to submit the s
21、ame number ofnew rolls as replacements.11. Packaging and Package Marking11.1 Unless otherwise agreed upon by the purchaser andsupplier, each product package shall be marked plainly with thesuppliers name, the product brand, the ASTM designation, thenet coverage, and the type of bitumen if not eviden
22、t in the labelname of the product.11.2 The rolls shall be wrapped or banded securely in amanner that completely encircles the roll and will preventslipping or unrolling.11.3 No roll shall contain more than two pieces and no morethan 3 % of the rolls in any lot shall contain two pieces.
