Scope1.1 This specification covers flexible sheet made from ketone ethylene ester (KEE) as the primary polymer intended f

3、or use insingle ply roofing membrane exposed to the weather. The sheet shall be reinforced with fabric.1.2 In-place roof system design criteria, such as fire resistance, field-seaming strength, material compatibility, uplift resistance,in-situ shrinkage, among others, are factors that must be consid

4、ered, but are beyond the scope of this specification.1.3 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in eachsystem may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values

United States1Ester groups of the vinyl acetate or acrylate are pendant from the ethylene backbone and reduce crystallinity, which providesflexibility. Carbon monoxide gr

16、oups within the polymer backbone provide polarity. The KEE polymer is therefore a flexiblepolymer, which is miscible with other polymers of similar polarity.3.3 polymer content, nin this specification, polymer content shall be defined as polymeric materials which are in the solid stateat room temper

17、ature, and are high (greater than 50 000 Mw) in molecular weight. Other ingredients, known to the art of polymercompounding, such as certain waxes, stabilizers, and other additives, while polymeric in nature are not considered to be part ofthe base polymer system.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 The

18、sheet shall be formulated from the appropriate polymers and other compounding ingredients. The KEE polymer shallbe a minimum of 50 % by weight of the polymer content of the sheet.4.2 The sheet shall be reinforced internally with a fabric.4.3 To make seam and repairs, the sheet shall be capable of be

19、ing bonded watertight to itself during the design service life ofthe sheets. The manufacturer shall recommend a suitable method. Design service life is defined as the designated time period ofintended system performance.5. Physical Properties5.1 The sheet shall conform to the physical requirements p

20、rescribed in Table 1.5.2 The tolerance for time conditions (aging, weathering, and so forth) is 615 min or 61 % of the period, whichever is greater,unless specified.5.3 The tolerance for temperature conditions (aging, weathering, and so forth) is62C 4F of the specified temperature, unlessotherwise s

21、pecified.6. Dimensions and Permissible Variations6.1 The width and length of the sheet shall be agreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier as part of the purchasecontract. The width and length tolerance shall be +3 % -0 % after permitting the sheet to relax 1 h at 23 6 1C 73 6 2F.6.2 The thi

22、ckness and thickness tolerance shall be agreed upon between the purchaser and supplier as part of the purchasecontract, subject to the minimum requirement in Table 1.7. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance7.1 The sheet, including factory seams if present, shall be watertight and be visually free of p

23、inholes, particles of foreign matter,undispersed raw materials, protruding reinforcement, and other manufacturing defects that might affect serviceability.7.2 The sheet shall be visually free of nicks and cuts, voids, thin areas, delaminations, moisture-bound fabric, or other defects.7.3 Edges of th

44、 specification, retesting to determine conformity shallbe performed as agreed upon between the purchaser and supplier.10. Rejection and Resubmittal10.1 Failure to conform to any one of the requirements prescribed in this specification shall constitute grounds for rejection. Theseller shall have the

45、right to reinspect the rejected shipment and resubmit the lot after removal of those packages not conformingto the specified requirements.11. Product Marking11.1 The sheet shall be identified on the side intended to be exposed to the weather with this ASTM designation, the name ofthe manufacturer or

46、 supplier, and KEE. The type of identification is at the manufacturers option. Such identification shall occurat intervals not to exceed 3 m 9 ft 10 in. in the long direction. The identification shall be applied in such a manner as to be legiblefive years from installation. Identification shall not

47、be required when so specified by the purchaser.12. Packaging and Package Marking12.1 The material shall be rolled on a substantial core and packaged in a standard commercial manner unless otherwise specifiedin the contract or order.12.2 Shipping container shall be marked with the name of the materia
