Significance and Use4
8、.1 Warning labels on extension poles will alert the end userof the product to potential of serious electrical shock injury ifthe product is used too close to electrical power lines.5. Requirements5.1 General:5.1.1 The warning label can be incorporated with a productlabel.5.1.2 The warning label must
9、 be constructed of a materialthat is water and solvent resistant and be permanently affixed tothe extension pole.5.1.3 The warning and product label must cover at least75 % of the circumference of the extension pole (for example,an extension pole that is 2.54 cm (1 in.) in diameter shall havea label
10、 that is at least 5.98 cm (2.356 in.) wide).5.2 Label:5.2.1 The warning portion of the label shall be trilingual(English, French, Spanish). See Table 1 for translations.5.2.2 The warning portion of the label shall incorporate ablack border that separates it from any other information on thelabel.5.2
11、.3 The warning portion of the label shall incorporate avertical or horizontal three panel design containing threecomponents: (1) a signal word, (2) symbol/pictorial panel, and(3) word message (see Fig. 1 for example).5.2.4 The signal word panel shall have a safety orangebackground with black letteri
12、ng and contain the word “WARN-ING” in uppercase boldface letters at least 12 point type(approximately 4 mm (0.157 in.) in height), preceded by ablack equilateral triangle with a safety orange exclamationpoint inside it. The base of the triangle shall line up with thebase of the signal word, and shal
13、l equal or exceed the signalword in height.5.2.5 The symbol/pictorial panel shall have a white back-ground with a black outlined equilateral triangle at least 1.27cm (0.5 in.) in height containing a black lightning bolt inside it,see Fig. 1 for example.1This specification is under the jurisdiction o
