1、Designation: D7588 11 (Reapproved 2018)Standard Guide forFT-IR Fingerprinting of a Non-Aqueous Liquid Paint asSupplied in the Manufacturers Container1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D7588; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,
2、 in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This guide covers the FT-IR fingerprinting of a liquidpaint as supplied in the c

Significance and Use5.1 The ability to collect an infrared spectrum of a liquidpaint as supplied in the container from the manufacturer is ofsign
10、ificant importance when performing qualification testing.Historically, fingerprinting a material for such purpose in-volved separating the components of the paint and collectingan infrared spectrum of one or more of these components(vehicle, pigments, solvent, etc.) with Test Method D2621being used
11、for the identification of the vehicle. This unfortu-nately provides information only on the portion of the liquidpaint analyzed whereas the technique shown in this practiceprovides a more complete picture of what is in the containerprovided. In addition, user expertise and time required tocollect a

It should be noted that ATR spectra ar

Two spectra obtained using different crystal materialscan appear different. For finite comparison of like materials itis recommended that only spectra obtained with the
