3、rs suitable for molding and extrusion.1.2 This classification system allows for the use of seg-mented block copolyesther elastomers that are recycled pro-vided that the requirements as stated in this classificationsystem are met. The proportions of recycled material used, aswell as the nature and am
4、ount of any contaminant, however,cannot be covered practically in this specification.1.3 The properties included in this classification system arethose required to identify the compositions covered. It ispossible that there are other requirements necessary to identifyparticular characteristics impor
5、tant to specialized applications.One way of specifying them is by using the suffixes as given inSection 5.1.4 This classification system and subsequent line callout(specification) are intended to provide a means of calling outplastic materials used in the fabrication of end items or parts.It is not
6、intended for the selection of materials. Materialselection is best made by those having expertise in the plasticfield after careful consideration of the design and the perfor-mance required of the part, the environment to which it will beexposed, the fabrication process to be employed, the costsinvo

Classification4.1 Thermoplastic copolyester elastomers are classified intogroups in accordance with the ma
20、terial chemical structure.These groups are subdivided into classes by Hardness and withit, as the result of some relationship with modulus, Flexibility,and are further subdivided into grades by melting point andmelt mass-flow rate, as shown in the Table 1 TPC Group, Table2 TPC Classification, and Ta
21、ble 3 Property requirements.4.1.1 There are no callout-lines included in this standard. Adesignation, a callout-line, is drawn up by using Tables 1-4 asbuilding blocks (see Tables 1-4 and Fig. 1).NOTE 2Drawing up callout lines by using Tables 1-4 as buildingblocks implies that addition of new callou

Suffixes5.1 When additional requirements are needed that are notcovered by the basic requirements or cell-table requirements,they shall be indicated through the use of suffixes.5.2 A list of suffixes can be found in Classification D4000(Ta

Additional suffixes will be added to that classifi-cation system as test methods and requirements are developedand requested.6. General Requirements6.1 Basic requirements from the property or cell tables arealways in effect un

Recommended processing con-ditions are shown in Table 6.10. Conditioning10.1 Test specimens shall be conditioned in the standardlaboratory atmosphere
39、 in accordance with Procedure A ofPractice D618 before performing the required tests.10.2 Conduct tests, other than MFR, in the standard labo-ratory atmosphere of 23 C and 50 % relative humidity.11. Test Methods11.1 Determine the properties enumerated in this classifica-tion system by means of the t
40、est methods referenced in Section2.11.1.1 The number of tests shall be consistent with therequirements of Section 8 and 12.4.12. Inspection and Certification12.1 Inspection and certification of the material suppliedwith reference to a specification based on this classificationsystem shall be for con
41、formance to the requirements specifiedherein.12.2 Lot-acceptance inspection shall be the basis on whichacceptance or rejection of the “lot” is made. The lot-acceptanceinspection shall consist of the tests listed as they apply:12.2.1 Mass-flow rate.12.2.2 Reinforcement content.12.3 Periodic-check ins
42、pection with reference to a specifi-cation based upon this classification system shall consist of thetests specified for all requirements of the material under thespecification. Inspection frequency shall be adequate to assurethe material is certifiable in accordance with 12.4.12.4 Certification sha
43、ll be that the material was manufac-tured by a process in statistical control, sampled, tested andinspected in accordance with this classification system and thatthe average values for the lot meet the requirements of thespecification line callout.NOTE 5The ASTM publication, Manual on Presentation o
