Classification4.1 This specif

7、ication covers a tube that is intended to beused one time only. It is not to be confused with a reusable tubethat is described in other published standards.5. Materials5.1 GlassThe tubes made to this specification shall befabricated borosilicate glass, Type I, Class B, or from soda limeglass, Type I

8、I, in accordance with Specification E438.6. Physical Requirements6.1 DesignThe tube shall be made of tubing with aminimum wall thickness of 0.6 mm. The tube shall have acylindrical body terminating in a round bottom on the outsideand a flat bottom on the inside. The tube shall have a uniformbore and

9、 a fire-polished top.6.2 WorkmanshipThe tube shall be free as possible fromvisible defects which detract from its serviceability. The tubeshall be well annealed so there will be no ring strain evidentwhen tested under a polariscope.6.3 DimensionsThe tube shall be made of tubing with anoutside diamet

10、er (O.D.) of 5.0 6 0.5 mm and an insidediameter (I.D.) of 2.9 to 3.5 mm. The uniformity of the boreshall be 60.15 mm throughout the tube. The tube shall be 110to 117 mm long and have a graduated scale of 100 mm.Manufacturers have the option to place additional graduationlines on the tube to a maximu

11、m of 105 mm. Maximum overalltolerance on the total graduation scale shall be 61.0 mm. Thetube shall be legibly marked with the makers or vendorsname or mark and possess a wide color band at the top of thetube for marking purposes.6.4 Graduation ScaleThe tube shall be graduated 100 to105 6 1.0 mm in

12、1 mm divisions and numbered everycentimetre with two sets of numerals. One set of graduationnumerals shall be from 0 to 9 cm down the left side of thegraduation scale and the other set of graduation numerals shallbefrom1to10cmup the right side of the graduation scale asshown in Fig. 1.6.5 Graduation

13、 LinesThe thickness of the graduationlines may vary in uniformity but shall not exceed 0.4 mm inthickness. They shall lie at right angles to the axis of the tubewith a maximum of 0.2 mm tolerance between two adjacentlines. Every tenth (numbered) line shall be a minimum of5 mm. The medium (every fift

14、h) line shall be a minimum of3 mm. The short (intermediate) lines shall be a minimum of2 mm.6.6 Resistance to Centrifugal ForceThe tube shall notchip, crack, or break when tested as specified in 7.2.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee E41 onLaboratory Apparatus and is the

The markings may not be of permanentnature but must possess sufficient st

Using a soft paper tissue, wipe the graduated portion ofthe wet tube lightly with ten complete strokes (five up a

When judged by the eye under normal room lightingthe tube markings should appear as before the test with onlypossible fading of the printed decorations, or minor removal ofmarkings that would not effect the tubes serviceability, or both.7.2 Resistance to Centrifugal Force TestThe tube

Speed and dimen-sions of the centrifuge head shall be such that the inside bottomof the tube is subjected to a relative centrifugal force (RCF) notless than 2500 g. The formula for calcu
