1、Designation: E 1471 92 (Reapproved 2004)Standard Guide forIdentification of Fibers, Fillers, and Core Materials inComputerized Material Property Databases1This standard is issued under the fixed designation E 1471; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adopti

2、on or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This guide establishes the essential and desirable ele-ments of data requ

3、ired for the identification in computerizedmaterial property databases of fibers, fillers, and core materialsused in composite materials. A recommended format for entryof these fields into a computerized database is provided.Examples of the application of this guide are also included.1.2 The recomme

4、nded format described in this guide issuggested for use in recording data in a database, which isdifferent from contractural reporting of actual test results. Thelatter type of information is described in materials specifica-tions shown in business transactions and is subject to agree-ment between v

5、endor and purchaser.1.3 The materials covered by this guide include fibers, bothcontinuous and discontinuous, and fillers of various geometrieswhich are used as reinforcements in composite materials, aswell as core materials used in sandwich composites. Cores maybe foam, honeycomb, or naturally occu

6、rring materials such asbalsa wood. These materials are distinguished from bulkmaterials by the importance of their specialized geometricforms to their properties. This difference is reflected in the useof geometry, along with chemistry, as a primary basis forclassification. Identification of composi

A format is recommended for placingthese data in fields suitable for a computerized database.1This guide is under the jurisdiction of ASTM

The purpose is to facilitate efficientstorage and retrieval of the information with a computer and toallow meaningful comparison of data from different sources.4.2 Compariso

Comparison may still be possible ifessential information is omitted, but the value of the compari-son may be greatly reduced.4.3 While at this time there is no gener
