Scope1.1 This specification is intended to apply to InsulatingConcrete Form (ICF) Systems that will act as permanentformwork
3、for cast-in-place reinforced concrete beams; lintels;exterior and interior, above and below grade bearing andnon-bearing walls; foundations; and retaining walls. The speci-fication is restricted to ICF Systems with a resultant uniformmonolithic concrete core.1.2 Products covered by the specification
4、 consists of moldedexpanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation panels that are con-nected by cross ties to form the ICF System.1.3 This specification identifies test methods appropriate forestablishing ICF System performance in their primary functionas a stay in place concrete forming system. The use of I
5、CFSystems covered by this specification shall be regulated bybuilding codes that address fire performance, structural perfor-mance or both. The fire performance of the material shall beaddressed through standard fire test methods established by theappropriate governing documents. The structural perf

(2) Has access to the facilities and trainedtechnical personnel to verify that the grading, bonding,workmanship, and other characteristics of the products asdetermined by inspection, sampling, and testing comply withall applicable requirements specified herein. 39、intowhich recycled material is introduced, must comply withrequirements of 6.2.2 6.2.6 of this specification whichestablish the base line properties of the cross ties.6.2.2 Rate of BurningPlastic Ties shall be tested in accor-dance withTest Method D635.The plastic shall meet minimumCC2 Classificatio

The mini-mum Ignition Temperature shall be 350C (662F).6.2.4 Fastener CapacityShall be tested in accordancewith modified Test Methods D1761 on a minimum o
41、f tenspecimens.6.2.4.1 Lateral Load Strength test specimens shall consist offull-thickness ICF panels, with the fastener for which recogni-tion is sought, screwed into the cross-tie flange in a mannerrepresentative of the end-use configuration. The test shall beconducted with an eccentricity equal t
42、o the embedment depthof the cross tie below the surface of the EPS. Where cross tiesare flush to the EPS no eccentricity is required. Pilot holes forscrews shall not be predrilled into the specimen.6.2.4.2 Analysis:(1) Plastic Cross TiesThe allowable lateral load strengthof the connection shall not
43、exceed 75 % of the averageproportional limit load, or the average ultimate load divided bya factor of 3.2, whichever is lower. The factor of 3.2 assumesa maximum coefficient of variation (COV) of 15 %. Where theCOV is greater than 15 %, the allowable load shall becomputed using the following equatio

49、ss Tie Shear StrengthThe minimum shearstrength of the plastic material determined from Test MethodD732 shall be greater than the value calculated by multiplyingthe web tributary area by the minimum shear strength of thecross tie assembly and dividing by the minimum vertical crosssectional area of the portion of the cross tie that passes throughthe concrete cavity.
