Scope1.1 This specification is applicable to environmentally con-trolled dynamic glazings (ECDG) whose vi
3、sible light transmit-tance or near infrared light transmittance properties, or both,can be changed reversibly by exposure to changing environ-mental conditions such as temperature and sunlight intensity.This includes thermochromic and thermotropic glazing, butcurrently excludes photochromic glazings
4、 as neither TestMethod E3119 nor this specification provide a procedure toaccess multiple states of photochromic glazing specimens.1.2 This specification does not apply to other types ofdynamic glazing which require an electrical stimulus to changelight transmittance, such as electrochromic glazings
5、.1.3 This specification covers environmentally controlleddynamic glazing (ECDG) in monolithic glass, monolithiclaminated glass, or pre-assembled, permanently sealed insulat-ing glass units with one or more cavities in which at least onelite is an ECDG (which may be in the form of a laminated liteor
6、a single pane with coatings or film applied). This specifica-tion is also applicable to ECDG devices in pre-assembledinsulating glass units with capillary tubes intentionally leftopen. As applicable, this specification also requires confor-mance to Specification E2190.1.4 This specification is appli

Specimen Preparation5.1 Five ide
30、ntical specimens shall be prepared for testing toTest Method E3119. One specimen shall remain untested forcomparison and four shall be exposed to the test conditionsaccording to Test Method E3119. The minimum test specimensize is 150 300 mm. Four specimens must be able to fit ontothe test plane simu
31、ltaneously.5.2 Test specimens for determining conformance to Speci-fication E2190 shall be prepared as described in SpecificationE2190 for IG specimens.5.3 Test specimens for determining conformance to Speci-fication C1172 shall be prepared as described in SpecificationC1172 for monolithic laminated
32、 glass specimens.5.4 Test specimens for determining conformance to Speci-fication C1036 shall be prepared as described in SpecificationC1036 for monolithic glass specimens.5.5 Test specimens for determining conformance to Speci-fication C1048 shall be prepared as described in SpecificationC1048 for

Procedure6.1 Follow Test Method E3119.6.1.1 The specimen temperatures as measured within 25 65 mm of the center of the outer surface of the ECDG shall bemaintained at 85 6 7 C.6.1.2 As described in Test Method E3119, take one set ofvisible light transmittance measuremen
34、ts at L, M, and HatE3120 172the measured center of the glass prior to exposure to the testconditions and one set of visible light transmittance measure-ments at L, M, and Hat the measured center of the glass atthe completion of the conditions in the test method. The samespot will be measured prior t
35、o and following the exposuredescribed in the test method. Do not measure the transmissionin the location where tape has been used to hold thethermocouple, as it has shielded the glass from the incidentradiation.6.2 Additional Test Methods:6.2.1 For IG specimens, ensure specimens in 5.2 havepassed th
36、e specification requirements found in SpecificationE2190. If gas filled ECDG IGUs are not to be certified, 4.3 ofSpecification E2190 does not apply.6.2.2 For monolithic laminated glass specimens, ensurespecimens in 5.3 have passed the specification requirementsfound in Specification C1172.6.2.3 For
37、monolithic glass specimens containing the ECDGthat are flat glass, but are not heat-treated, ensure specimens in5.4 have passed the specification requirements found in Speci-fication C1036.6.2.4 For monolithic glass test specimens containing theECDG that are heat treated flat glass, ensure specimens

Qualification7.1 When at least three of the four test specimens have metthe requirements as described in Section 4, this set of testspecimens shall be deemed to be qualified according to thisspecification at the Monol
39、ithic Glazing Classification, Mono-lithic Laminated Glazing Classification, Exterior Glazed Prod-uct Classification, or the Room-Side Glazed ProductClassification, depending on the selected specimen orientationduring the test.7.1.1 The Exterior Product Classification is for those insu-lating glass p
40、roducts that meet this specification after beingtested with the lite containing the ECDG pane closest to thelamp source.7.1.2 The Room-Side Product Classification is for thoseinsulating glass products that meet this specification after beingtested with the lite containing the ECDG pane farthest away
41、from the lamp source.7.1.3 The Monolithic Glazing Classification is for thoseproducts that meet this specification after being tested with theECDG as a monolithic glass lite.7.1.4 The Monolithic Laminated Glazing Classification isfor those products that meet this specification after being testedwith

43、o Test Method E3119 (4.1) and one related to confor-mance to the appropriate specification listed in 4.2 to Section 5.8.2 Test Method E3119 Report.8.2.1 Report all information as required in the ReportSection of Test Method E3119.8.2.2 Report the orientation of the ECDG containing lite inthe insulat
44、ing glass unit relative to the radiation source (that is,was it tested as monolithic glass, monolithic laminated glass,exterior lite or room side lite glazed ECDG configuration).8.2.3 Report a full description of the make-up of the ECDGspecimen tested, including a description of the ECDG paneand, if
