Scope1.1 This specification covers Type 101 sealing glass for usein electronic applications.NOTE 1This specification is primarily intended to consider g

3、lass asmost generally used, this is, glass in its transparent form as normallyencountered in fabricating electronic devices. X1.3 lists sealing metals andalloys that are compatible with this glass. Type 101 glass in other formssuch as powdered, crushed, sintered, fibrous, etc. are excluded. Therequi

10、cation of, andapproval by, the user.5. Physical Properties5.1 The material shall conform to the physical propertiesprescribed in Table 1. For electrical properties see Table 2 andits Footnote A.6. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance6.1 The glass shall have a finish that ensures smooth, evensurfaces

11、and freedom from cracks, checks, bubbles, and otherflaws of a character detrimental to the strength or life of thecomponent or device for which its use is intended.7. 14、00 Barr Harbor Drive, PO Box C700, West Conshohocken, PA 19428-2959, United States.7.3 Thermal Expansion Coeffcient Pretreat the specimenby heating to 10C above the annealing point and hold it at thattemperature for 15 min; then cool it from that temperature to100C at a rate of 2 to 5C/min. The cool

15、ing rate below 100Cis optional. Place the specimen in the dilatometer and deter-mine the mean coefficient of linear thermal expansion for the 0to 300C range in accordance with ProcedureAof Test MethodE 228.7.4 Contraction CoeffcientHeat the specimen in a vitre-ous silica dilatometer to 20C above the

16、 annealing point andhold it at that temperature for 15 min; then cool at a rate offrom 1.0 to 1.5C/min to a temperature below 200C. The rateof cooling from the point below 200 to 100C shall not exceed5C/min. The rate of cooling from 100C to room temperatureis optional. During this cooling schedule,

17、determine the ther-mal contraction curve and calculate the mean coefficient oflinear thermal contraction between a point 15C below theannealing point and 30C in accordance with Procedure B ofTest Method E 228.7.5 Bead Seal TestThe thermal contraction match be-tween the glass and a sealing alloy may

18、be determined bypreparing and testing an assembly in accordance with PracticesF 14, F 140, or F 144.8. Test Results8.1 Observed or calculated values obtained from measure-ments, tests, or analysis shall be rounded in accordance withthe rounding method of Practice E29, to the nearest unit in thelast

19、right-hand place of figures used in expressing the specifiedlimit.9. Investigation of Claims9.1 Where any material fails to meet the requirements ofthis specification, the material so designated shall be handled inaccordance with the agreement mutually acceptable to themanufacturer and the purchaser

Packaging and Package Marking10.1 Packing shall be determined by the form in which thismaterial shall be supplied and shall be subject to agreementbetween the manufacturer and the purchaser.10.2 The material as furnished under this specification shallbe identified by the name or symbol of the m
