、Designation: E937 93 (Reapproved 2011)Standard Test Method forCorrosion of Steel by Sprayed Fire-Resistive Material(SFRM) Applied to Structural Members1This standard is issued under the fixed designation E937; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or

、, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method covers a procedure for measuring thecorrosion to steel induced

、 by sprayed fire-resistive material.1.2 These SFRMs include sprayed fibrous and cementitiousmaterials applied directly in contact with the structural mem-bers.1.3 This test method is applicable only to laboratory proce-dures.1.4 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard. The va

Summary of Test Method4.1 In this test method replicate panels of bare, shop-coate

、d,and galvanized steel are sprayed with SFRM and subjected toroom temperature and humidity conditions and to 240 h ofconditioning in a temperature- and humidity-controlled cham-ber. Corrosion induced under these conditions is determined byweight loss3of the sheets as related to sheets not so condi-t

、ioned.5. Significance and Use5.1 It is the intent of this test method to determine relativecorrosive properties of direct applied SFRM that provides anindication of serviceability. Satisfactory performance of SFRMapplied to structural members and assemblies depends upon itsability to withstand the v
