Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 entrainment separator, na mechanical device in-s

10、erted in a pipeline which by centrifugal force, baffles, or othermeans will separate a liquid from a gas (vapor).3.1.2 hydrostatic test, nthe act of filling an entrainmentseparator vessel with water and applying internal pressure to allparts of the vessel.3.1.3 master gage, nthe calibrated gage used

11、 to verify theaccuracy of the test gage. This gage shall be recalibratedtraceable to the National Bureau of Standards.3.1.4 pressure rating, nthe maximum working pressure ofan entrainment separator when operated at a specific tempera-ture.3.1.5 proof test, nthe act of filling an entrainment separa-t

Materials and Manufacture4.1 The pressure-temperature ratings established under thisspecification are based upon the manufacturers usage of highquality materials produced under regular control of chemicaland physical p

19、roperties by a recognized process. The manu-facturer shall be prepared to submit certification of compliance,verifying that his product has been so produced and that it hasbeen manufactured from material with chemical and physicalproperties at least equal to the requirements of the appropriatestanda

20、rd or specification listed in 4.3 of this specification orSection II of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.4.2 For materials not having values of allowable stresstabulated in Section VIII, Division I, of the ASME Boiler andPressure Vessel Code, allowable stresses shall be determined inaccordan

21、ce with the procedures outlined in Appendix P ofSection VIII, Division 1, of the ASME Boiler and PressureVessel Code.4.3 Materials of construction shall be suitable for the serviceintended.4.4 Bolting materials shall be at least equal to those listed inTable 1B of ASME B16.5. Bolting materials shall

22、 not be usedbeyond temperature limits specified in the governing codes.5. Requirements5.1 Entrainment separators covered in this specificationshall be designed according to the lowest pressure-temperaturerating of any individual component, or as established by prooftests.5.2 The design pressure-temp

23、erature of entrainment separa-tors covered in this specification will be established by themanufacturer using one of the following methods:5.2.1 Design calculations in accordance with the require-ments prescribed in the ASME Boiler and Pressure VesselCode, Section VIII, Division 1, Part UG, of Subse

24、ction A andthe applicable part of Subsection C.5.2.2 Proof test in accordance with the requirements of UG101 (m), UCI-101, or UCD-101 of Section VIII, Division 1, ofthe ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.5.2.3 Where any part of the entrainment separator vesselcannot be designed within the scope of

25、 the ASME Boiler andPressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1, DesignSection, the pressure-temperature rating must be determinedthrough proof and hydrostatic tests using the following formu-las to determine the allowable operating limits of pressure andtemperature. Operator safety should be con

27、lue at test temperature (psi),T1= specified minimum tensile strength (psi), andT2= actual tensile strength test specimen (psi).5.2.3.1 Stress values S1and S2are determined from SectionVIII, of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.5.2.3.2 The value of PHTto be used in determining themaximum allow

28、able working pressure shall be the maximumpressure to which the entrainment separator was subjected towithout permanent deformation or rupture.5.2.3.3 Test water temperature6and entrainment separatortemperature must be at equilibrium before hydrostatic testpressure is applied.5.2.3.4 All possible ai

29、r pockets must be purged while theentrainment separator vessel is being filled with water. Ad-equate vents shall be provided at all high points of the vessel.5.2.3.5 External equipment not to be pressurized with theentrainment separator should be isolated or disconnectedbefore applying the hydrostat

30、ic test pressure.5.2.3.6 Hydrostatic test pressure shall be applied graduallyto the entrainment separator and held stationary at eachincrement for a sufficient time in order that a visual inspectioncan be made for leaks or deformation of the vessel. The finalvalue of hydrostatic test pressure that i

31、s not in conflict with5.2.3.2 is called PHT.5.3 Pressure-temperature rating and construction of all pipeconnections shall be in accordance with the following stan-dards or specifications: ANSI B2.1, ASME B16.1, ASMEB16.3, ASME B16.4, ASME B16.5, ASME B16.11, ASMEB16.15, ASME B16.24, ASME B16.25, ASM

32、E SA-278, ANSIB16.31, MSS-SP-51, and MIL-F-1183.6. Test Methods6.1 All entrainment separators must be pressure tested inaccordance with the following:6.1.1 Each entrainment separator shall be tested by subject-ing it to an internal hydrostatic test procedure, which at everypoint in the separator is

33、at least equal to 1.5 times themaximum allowable working pressure, multiplied by the low-est ratio of the stress value for the design temperature.Test pressure 5 1.5 3maximum allowable pressure3stress value at test temperaturestress value at design temperature6Test water temperature to be no less th

34、an 60F (10C), but not to exceed 125F(52C).F1006 86 (2018)26.1.1.1 The hydrostatic test pressure shall be held stationaryfor a suitable time necessary for observation and inspection ofthe separator. The minimum time of test shall be no less than1 min.6.1.1.2 A test gage, as defined in this specificat

35、ion (seeSection 3) shall be connected directly to the entrainmentseparator.6.1.1.3 For compliance withASME Codes leading toASMEcertification, proceed with steps as outlined in Section VIII,Division 1, of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code forStandard Hydrostatic Tests.7. Packaging and Package

36、Marking7.1 Each entrainment separator shall have a securely at-tached nameplate or other permanent marking indicating thefollowing:7.1.1 Manufacturers name and trademark,7.1.2 Pressure-temperature rating,7.1.3 Manufacturers serial number,7.1.4 Year built,7.1.5 Size (end connection pipe size),7.1.6 F

37、low direction,7.1.7 National board number, where applicable,7.1.8 ASME code stamp, where applicable, and7.1.9 ASTM designation and year of issue.8.
