Materials6.1 All materials shall be specified as follows:6.1.1 Materials used shall be free from defects that wouldaffect the performance or maintainability of individual compo-nents of

The dishwashing machines shallmeet the material design and construction requirements ofNSF/ANSI 3.6.1.2 Corrosion-Resistant SteelCorrosion-resistant steelshall conform to the requirements of any 300 series stainlesssteel.6.1.3 Corrosion-Resisting MaterialCorrosion-resistingmate
27、rial is material other than corrosion-resistant steel that isequivalent in the dishwasher application.6.1.4 Nickel-Copper AlloyNickel-copper alloy shall con-form to the requirements of Specification B 127.6.1.5 PlasticsAll plastic materials and components usedin the dishwashing rinse system shall co
28、nform to NSF/ANSI 14or NSF/ANSI 51.7. Construction Requirements7.1 The dishwashing machine shall be complete so thatwhen connected to the specified source of power, water supply,heating means (steam or electric) and drainage, detergent andrinse agent feeder as applicable, the unit can be used for it
29、sintended function. Dishwashers shall be quiet in operation, freefrom objectionable splashing of water to the outside of themachine. The machine shall be equipped with splash curtainsto prevent excessive splash and spray carryover. Parts requiringadjustment or service, or both, shall be readily acce
30、ssible fromthe front and side of the machine. The machine shall washdishes by means of a water and detergent solution pumpedfrom a tank and shall pump rinse the dishes under pumppressure prior to the final rinse of fresh water from an outsidesource. Provisions shall be made to fill the wash and rins
31、e tankeither directly from the regular hot water supply with a handvalve or through the booster or solenoid, or both, provided thewater temperatures comply with the provisions of NSF/ANSI3. The dishwashing machine shall have a conveyor for han-dling 1934 by 1934 in. (nominal) racks, or equivalent me
32、etingcapacity requirement. The conveyor shall be protected by anadjustable slip clutch or other device. Means shall be providedfor releasing or disconnecting the drive power, or the drive incase of jamming. The conveyor shall be driven by a separatemotor. The final rinse spray control shall have a p
33、ositive returnto the OFF position when there are no racks in process toensure the conservation of final rinse water. The machine shallbe provided with tracks of corrosion-resistant steel or othercorrosion-resisting material not less than 0.070 in. (1.78 mm)or equivalent die formed, not less than 0.0
34、59 in. (1.5 mm)thick. Dishwashers shall have an inside working height of notless than 17.5 in. (444.5 mm) above the track.7.2 ConveyorThe conveyor shall be of heavy-duty con-struction, and of suitable corrosion-resisting material. 35、on F 861through the dishwasher automatically.7.2.1 Conveyor Clutch SystemAn automatic trouble freeclutch system, springloaded, or adjustable slip clutch, and ofthe automatic re-engaging type, shall be furnished to shut downthe conveyor in case of a jam or other mechanical malfunc-tion(s).7.2.2 Conve
36、yor Table(s)The conveyor table shall be con-structed of not less than 0.070 in. thick (1.78 mm) corrosion-resistant steel or other corrosion-resisting material. The legsshall be preassembled with suitable cross bracing and shall befurnished with NSF listed adjustable feet. The table shallinclude a m
37、echanical conveyor system designed to continu-ously transfer dishes or racks at the rate of 6 to 8 ft/min. Theconveyor tables shall be furnished in the arrangement selected(see 4.5). The conveyor table shall be sectioned for shipment.7.3 Piping, Tubing, Fittings, and Valves (Installation)Connections
38、 shall be readily accessible to facilitate installationand maintenance. Piping, tubing, and valves shall be located,when ever possible, on the exterior of the machine.7.3.1 Piping and FittingsWater, steam piping, and fittingsshall be of corrosion-resisting material. Fresh water supply tothe tank sha
39、ll be discharged not lower than 2 in. (50.8 mm)above the maximum flood level rim, or an effective air gap orvacuum breaker shall be installed to prevent backflow. Back-flow protection shall be in accordance with ASSE No. 1004.The drain and other plumbing connections shall be standardpipe or tubing c
40、onnections. Drainage piping shall be corrosion-resisting material, or suitable heat-resisting plastic tubing withfittings. Drains may be joined into a single trunk line requiringonly one connection or arranged to permit individual connec-tions to the waste line.7.3.2 ValvesWhen specified, steam valv
41、es shall be ofcorrosion-resisting material designed for steam applicationsand for a saturated steam working pressure of 50 psi (345 kPa).When specified, a separately packed service supply valve shallbe provided for closing the supply of water to the dishwasher.The drain valve shall be permanently ma
42、rked to show open andclosed position and shall be lever-operated or wheel-operated,ruggedly designed for foot or hand operation except whendrain valve closure is automatic. Fresh-water rinse valves shallbe reliable and fully automatic and suitable for 210F (98.9C)water. The manually operated valves,
43、 when used, shall beidentified.7.4 Spray AssembliesAll spray nozzles and spray armmanifolds shall be corrosion-resisting materials. All sprayassemblies shall be removable without the use of tools andshall be easy to clean. Final sanitizing rinse spray assemblies,components, or both shall be removabl
44、e for deliming, descal-ing, and similar maintenance.7.5 TankThe tank shall be constructed of not less than0.048 in. (1.219 mm) thick corrosion-resistant steel, Type 302in accordance with Specification A 167.7.6 OverflowThe dishwasher shall have a readily acces-sible overflow drain in the tank. The o
45、verflow unit, or cover,when provided, shall be readily removable for cleaning.7.7 Scrap Trays (Strainers)Scrap trays of corrosion-resistant steel, not less than 0.048 in. (1.219 mm) thick inaccordance with Specification A 167 shall be provided toprevent insoluble matter and large pieces of food resi
46、due frompassing into the tank. The ledges on which the scrap trays restshall be so designed that surfaces beneath the ledge are easilyaccessible for cleaning when the trays are removed. Anyopening around or between scrap trays shall be held to aminimum, and as close as practical to the size of the s
47、crap trayopening.7.8 Access Door(s)Access door(s) shall be provided forease of machine clean-out. The door(s) shall be constructed ofnot less than 0.048 in. (1.219 mm) thick, corrosion-resistantsteel in accordance with Specification A 167, and shall be rigidand stiffened as necessary. Door safety ca
48、tches shall beprovided for maximum operator safety, and the door handlesshall be of insulated handle design. Doors shall be splash-proofand their exposed edges shall be smooth and formed to preventcanting or warping. One door assembly shall be furnished foreach tank. A common door may be furnished f
49、or adjacenttanks, if such door is of sufficient width to provide the requiredaccess. Doors shall be provided with an interlock mechanismto prevent the spray of wash or rinse water when the door isopened.7.9 Legs (Feet)The machine shall be rigidly constructedand have four or more legs (feet) made of corrosion-resistantsteel, or other corrosion-resisting material. Legs shall beadjustable, so that the height of the track may be varied from34 to 35 in. (863.6 to 889 mm) above the floor.7.10 Pump and Motor Assemblies:7.10.1 AssembliesThe pump
