Materials5.1 The wire from which the fabric is woven shall conformto all requirements of Specification A 817 for Type III coating,in

15、 the class of coating specified (Class 1 or Class 2).6. Weave6.1 The wire shall be woven throughout in the form ofapproximately uniform square mesh, having parallel sides andhorizontal and vertical diagonals of approximately uniformdimensions. The top and bottom of the fabric shall be knuckledor twi

16、sted as specified in Section 10.6.2 Typical diamond count for each standard height isshown in Table 1. Other diamond counts are permissibleprovided that they are consistent within a lot. The purchaserhas the option to specify the diamond count (4.1.5).7. Size of Mesh7.1 The size of mesh shall be as

17、indicated in Table 2.7.2 The permissible variation from the specified size ofmesh shall be 618 in. 63.2 mm for all mesh sizes except 1in., and 6116 in. 61.6 mm for 1 in. mesh size.7.3 The size of mesh shall be determined by measuring theminimum clear distance between the wires forming the parallelsi

Size of Wire8.1 Chain-link fabric shall be fabricated from wire diam-eters as listed in Specification A 817, with a permissiblevariation from the specified diameter of the coated wire of60.005 in. 60.

19、13 mm.9. Height of Fabric9.1 Chain-link fabric shall be furnished in the standardheights shown in Table 2. The height of fabric shall be theoverall dimension from ends of twists or knuckles. Thepermissible variation from the specified height shall be 61 in.625 mm for standard selvage.10. Selvage10.1

20、 Unless otherwise specified by the purchaser, fabricswith 2- or 218-in. 50- or 54-mm mesh, in heights 60 in. 1520mm and under shall be knuckled at both selvages. Fabric 72in. 1830 mm high and over shall be knuckled at one selvageand twisted at the other.10.2 The selvages of fabrics with meshes of le

Weight of Coating11.1 The weight of Zn-5A1-MM alloy coating on the fabricmay be ordered in two coating weight classes

22、 as follows, inaccordance with Specification A 817.11.1.1 Class 1The weight of Zn-5A1-MM alloy coatingshall not be less than 0.6 oz/ft2183 g/m2 of uncoated wiresurface.11.1.2 Class 2The weight of Zn-5A1-MM alloy coatingshall not be less than 1.0 oz/ft2305 g/m2 of uncoated wiresurface.11.2 The weight

23、 of coating shall be determined in accor-dance with Test Method A 90.12. Workmanship12.1 Chain-link fence fabric shall be produced by methodsrecognized as good commercial practices.12.2 Excessive roughness, blisters, and flaking shall benoted. These and other defects, if present to any considerablee

24、xtent, shall provide a basis for rejection.NOTE 3Rust formations on the cut ends of the wire at the fabricselvages are inherent characteristics of this material and do not warrantrejection of the fabric.13.
