Materials and Manufacture6.1 Ferrous MaterialsCast fittings shall be constructed ofductile iron in accordance with Table 1 Specification Reference8 or 10 Grades 654515 or 654512 respectively or M
30、al-leable Iron in accordance with Table 1 Specification Reference1 or steel in accordance with Table 1 Specification Reference 5or Cast Iron in accordance with Table 1 Specification Refer-ence 2. Wrought fittings shall be made in accordance withTable 1 Specification Reference 6. Fabricated fittings
31、andtangents shall be constructed of steel in accordance with Table1 Specification Reference 3.6.1.1 Fitting shall be bare, coated with manufacturersstandard preparation and paint, hot-dip galvanized in accor-dance with Table 1 Specification Reference 4 or other finish asagreed upon between purchaser
32、 and manufacturer.6.2 Aluminum Alloy MaterialsFittings shall be con-structed of aluminum alloy in accordance with Table 1 Speci-fication Reference 12. Fabricated fittings shall be made frompipe in accordance with Table 1 Specification Reference 14.6.2.1 Finish for aluminum alloy fittings shall be ba
33、re,anodized in accordance with Table 1 Specification Reference16 or as otherwise agreed between purchaser and manufacturer.6.3 Iron-Chromium-Nickel, Corrosion ResistanceMaterialsFittings shall be constructed of iron-chromium-nickel alloy in accordance with Table 1 Specification Refer-ence 11, or Tab

Welded tangentsand fabricated fittings shall be in accordance with Table 1Specification Reference 7.6.3.1 Finish for iron-chromium-nickel shall be bare or asotherwise agreed between purchaser and manufacturer.6.4 Copper or brass, cast fittings shall be constructed ofb
35、rass in accordance with Table 1 Specification Reference 17.Wrought fittings shall be constructed of copper in accordancewith Table 1 Specification Reference 13.6.4.1 Finish for copper or brass fittings shall be bare or asotherwise agreed between purchaser and manufacturer.6.5 Copper-nickel cast fitt
36、ings shall be constructed ofcopper-nickel in accordance with Table 1 Specification Refer-ence 15 as applicable.6.5.1 Finish for copper-nickel fittings shall be bare or asotherwise agreed between purchaser and manufacturer.6.6 Other MaterialsWhere other materials are required,the material, mechanical
37、 properties and finish of the productsshall be as agreed upon by the fitting manufacturer and thepurchaser.6.7 Material Quality:6.7.1 The material shall be of such quality and purity thatthe finished product shall have the properties and characteris-tics to meet the performance requirements of this
38、standard.6.7.2 The manufacturer is encouraged to use materialsproduced from recovered materials to the maximum extentpracticable without jeopardizing the intended use. The term“recovered materials” means: “Materials which have beencollected or recovered from solid waste and reprocessed tobecome a so
39、urce of raw material, as opposed to virgin rawmaterials.” Used or rebuilt products shall not be used.7. Other Requirements7.1 Design Requirements:7.1.1 The design of the fittings may be qualified by math-ematical analysis in accordance with piping codes agreed to bymanufacturer and purchaser or by t
40、esting. Fittings that aretested shall be tested with gasketed mechanical couplings inaccordance with the test requirements of Specification F 1476.7.2 Qualification Requirements:7.2.1 Mathematical Analysis:7.2.1.1 Amathematical analysis, where appropriate, shall beperformed as required by the govern
41、ing piping code. Recordsof the analysis shall be available at the manufacturers facilityfor inspection by the purchaser.7.2.2 Test:7.2.2.1 The fittings shall be tested, where appropriate, withgasketed mechanical couplings in accordance with the require-ments of Specification F 1476. Unless otherwise
42、 noted herein,all requirements of Specification F 1476 apply. Records ofsuccessful tests shall be available at the manufacturers facilityfor inspection by the purchaser.7.2.3 Each type, pressure class, and material of fittingoffered for sale must be qualified. Interpolation betweenqualified sizes is
43、 allowed as defined in Specification F 1476.Qualification of the fitting requires successful completion ofthe analysis or required testing. Each fitting design is onlyqualified for use with the GMC design on which it was testedor analyzed.8. Dimensions, Mass and Permissible Variations8.1 Fitting Dim
44、ensionsFitting dimensions and toleranceshall be as specified by the manufacturer.9. Workmanship, Finish and Appearance9.1 All fitting surfaces shall be free from scale, blisters, fins,folds, seams, laps, burrs and cracks, which would affect thesuitability for the intended service.10. Inspection10.1
45、Terms of Inspection:10.1.1 Inspection of the fittings shall be in accordance withthe manufacturers standard inspection procedure or as agreedupon between the purchaser and the manufacturer or supplieras part of the purchase contract.10.2 Raw Material Inspection:10.2.1 Raw material shall be inspected
46、 for compliance withits material specification.10.3 Quality Conformance Inspection:10.3.1 Fitting samples shall be visually and dimensionallyexamined to verify compliance with the manufacturers appro-priate drawings.10.4 Process Control Inspection:F 1548 01 (2006)310.4.1 Fittings shall be inspected
47、throughout the entiremanufacturing and processing cycle. Methods of inspectionshall be in compliance with manufacturers quality assuranceprocedures.10.5 Inspection Records:10.5.1 Inspection records shall be maintained by the manu-facturer. The length of time on file shall be in accordance withthe ma
48、nufacturers quality assurance procedures.11. Certification11.1 Material Certification:11.1.1 A certification of compliance shall be obtained fromthe materials supplier, when applicable. This certificate shallstate that applicable requirements for the raw material havebeen satisfied.12. Product Marki
49、ngs12.1 Each fitting shall be marked with the manufacturersname or trademark, size, and markings traceable to the materialand pressure rating.13. Packaging13.1 The fitting shall be boxed, crated, wrapped and other-wise protected during shipment and storage in accordance withmanufacturers standard practice.
