3、requirements and test methodsfor materials, dimensions, workmanship, stiffness factor, ex-trusion quality, and a form of marking for extruded poly(vinylchloride) (PVC) profile strips used for machine made fieldfabrication of spirally wound pipe liners in the rehabilitation ofa variety of gravity app

4、lications such as sanitary sewers, stormsewers, and process piping in diameters of 6 to 180 in. and forsimilar sizes of non-circular pipelines such as arched or ovalshapes and rectangular shapes.1.2 Profile strip produced to this specification is for use infield fabrication of spirally wound liner p

5、ipes in nonpressuresewer and conduit rehabilitation, where the spirally woundliner pipe is expanded until it presses against the interiorsurface of the existing sewer or conduit, or, alternatively, wherethe spirally wound liner pipe is inserted as a fixed diameter intothe existing sewer or conduit a

6、nd the annular space between theliner pipe and the existing sewer or conduit is grouted.1.3 This specification includes extruded profile strips madeonly from materials specified in 5.1.1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. No other units of measurement are included

20、e and femaleedges which are self interlocking, or separate locking stripswhich serve the same purpose. TypeAand Type B are differentprofiles and are installed by different installation methods. (SeeFig. 1 and Table 1 for Type A and Fig. 2 and Table 2 for TypeB.)3.2.2 non-circular pipearched, oval or

21、 rectangular, or acombination thereof, shaped pipes.3.2.3 production runa continuous extrusion of a givenprofile type.3.2.4 spirally wound liner pipea product field fabricatedfrom extruded PVC profile strip into a round , or non-circularshape such as arched or oval or rectangular pipe (see Fig. 3).3

22、.2.5 steel reinforcementa shaped steel strip or clip in-serted into the inside of the PVC profile to provide additionalreinforcement and stiffening (See Fig. 4 and Fig. 5.)4. Application of Materials4.1 The profile strip designations specified in Table 1 maybe used for a range of existing sewer and

23、conduit diameters.The selection of the profile designation to be used should bedetermined based on analysis of installation conditions.4.2 The steel reinforcing strips shall be used to reinforce theextruded PVC profile strip where required by the designconditions, such as for pipes under high soil,

24、surcharge or liveloads throughout the design life. The steel reinforcing stripsmay be used to maintain the profile position during grouting.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 PVC MaterialsThe extruded profile strip shall bemade from PVC compound meeting all the minimum require-ments for Cell Classifica

25、tions 12344 or 13454 or higher, asdefined in Specification D 1784.5.2 Steel MaterialsThe steel reinforcing strip shall bemade of zinc-galvanized coated steel or stainless steel asdefined in Specifications A 879/A 879M, A 167, A 176,A 924/A 924M or A 653/A 653M.5.3 Rework MaterialClean rework materia

26、l generatedfrom the manufacturers own extruded PVC strip productionmay be used by the same manufacturer provided extrudedprofile strip produced meets all the requirements of thisspecification.6. Other Requirements6.1 Stiffness FactorStiffness factor values for the ex-truded profile strip shall compl

27、y with Table 1 when tested inaccordance with 11.3.6.2 Acetone ImmersionThe profile strip shall not flake ordisintegrate when tested in accordance with 11.4.NOTE 2This is intended only for use as a quality control test and notfor use as a simulated service test.7. Dimensions and Permissible Variation

28、7.1 Width of Profile StripThe width of the profile stripshall meet the requirements given in Table 1 when measured inaccordance with 11.2.1.7.2 Height of Profile StripThe height of the profile stripshall meet the requirements given in Table 1 when measured inaccordance with 11.2.2.7.3 Waterway Wall

29、ThicknessThe waterway wall thick-ness of the profile strip shall meet the requirements given inTable 1 when measured in accordance with 11.2.3.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 The extruded profile strip shall be homogeneousthroughout and free from visible cracks, holes, foreign inclu-sions,

30、 or other injurious defects. The extruded profile strip shallbe as uniform as commercially practical in color, opacity,density, and other physical properties.9. Sampling10.1 Samples of extruded profile strip of sufficient length toconduct the necessary quality control tests shall be cut fromeach extrusion production run of a given profile designation.10.2 The frequency of sampling shall be as agreed uponbetw

39、een the purchaser and the seller.10.3 Initial and retest samples shall be drawn from the sameproduction run.11. Test Methods11.1 Test ConditionsConduct tests in the standard labora-tory atmosphere of 73.4 6 3.6F (23 6 2C) and 50 6 5%relative humidity, with test specimens conditioned in accor-dance w

40、ith Procedure A of Practice D 618, unless otherwisespecified in the test methods or in this specification.11.2 Extruded Profile Dimensions:11.2.1 Width of Profile StripMeasure the width of theprofile strip in accordance with the applicable sections of TestMethod D 2122 for determining length of pipe

41、.11.2.2 Height of Profile StripMeasure the height of theprofile strip in accordance with the applicable sections of TestMethod D 2122 for determining wall thickness. Measurementsshall be made from the smooth surface to the outer surface ofthe ribs.11.2.3 Wall ThicknessMeasure the wall thickness of t

42、hethinnest cross section of the waterway in the gaps between ribsin accordance with Test Method D 2122.11.3 Stiffness FactorA flat (no curvature) specimen notless than 12 in. (300 mm) long, including an assembled joint,shall be prepared from each production run. Using the speci-men oriented as shown

43、 in Fig. 6, the stiffness factor shall bedetermined in accordance with Test Methods D 790, TangentModulus of Elasticity, Procedure B, where the equation for EB is replaced by EI=L3m/48 b. Procedure B of Test MethodsD 790 shall be used in this test. The calculated stiffness factorshall equal or excee

44、d the minimum value listed in Table 1 forthe profile type tested.NOTE 4The stiffness factors determined by test should not be used tocalculate pipe stiffness.11.4 Acetone ImmersionTests shall be run in accordancewith Test Method D 2152 on profile strip samples. Thisprocedure is used for determining

45、the extrusion quality ofextruded PVC profile strip as indicated by reaction to immer-sion in anhydrous acetone. 46、nessEach profile type in Table 1 shall betested for joint tightness.11.5.1 Fabricate a length of spiral-wound liner pipe, eitherexpanded or fixed diameter, with a minimum length of sixtimes the outside diameter. Assemble this length of liner pipeas shown in Fig. 7. The opening may be sealed using en

47、d capsor mechanical sealing devices.11.5.2 Perform the pressure and vacuum tests as describedin 11.5.5 and 11.5.6 on the liner pipe in straight alignment.11.5.3 Suitably restraining the pipe deflect it to form aminimum angle of 10 at a bend radius specified by themanufacturer as shown in Fig. 8. Hol

48、d this position andperform pressure and vacuum tests as described in 11.5.5 and11.5.6.NOTE 5As an example some profile liner pipe manufacturers recom-mend a bend radius equal to 150 times the pipe outside diameter.11.5.4 Restrain the liner pipe at both ends as shown in Fig.8 Fig. 9 and apply a load

49、at the middle of the liner pipe untilthe point of load application has moved downward 5 % of theliner pipes outside diameter. Hold this position and performpressure and vacuum tests as described in 11.5.5 and 11.5.6.11.5.5 Internal Pressure TestFill the liner pipe assemblywith water. Apply a pressure of 10.8 psi (74 kPa) (gage) (25-ft.head) for 10 min. Visible leaks in the joint constitute failure.11.5.6 Vacuum TestFill the liner pipe assembly with aironly. Apply a vacuum of 22 in. Hg (74 kPa). Close the valveand remove the vacuum line. Allow
