Significance and Use4.1 The
18、requirements of this specification are intended toprovide extruded PVC profile suitable for the field fabricationof PVC liner for the rehabilitation of existing pipelines andconduits conveying sewage, process flow and storm waterunder gravity flow conditions.NOTE 2Industrial waste disposal lines sha
19、ll be installed only with thespecific approval of the cognizant code authority since chemicals notcommonly found in drains and sewers and temperatures in excess of140F (60C) may be encountered.5. Application of Materials5.1 The profile strip specified herein can be used for a rangeof existing sewer
20、and conduit diameters. The selection of theannulus between the PVC liner and the host structure shall bedetermined based on analysis of installation conditions.6. Materials and Manufacture6.1 The extruded profile former and joiner strips shall bemade from PVC compound meeting all the minimum require
21、-ments for cell classification 12344 or higher as defined inSpecification D1784.6.2 The elastomer seal shall be made from extrusion gradeelastomer with Shore A durometer of 65 (+5 to 5), whenmeasured in accordance with Test Method D2240.6.3 Rework MaterialClean rework material generatedfrom the manu
22、facturers own extruded PVC strip productionmay be used by the same manufacturer provided extrudedprofile strip produced meets all the requirements of thisspecification.7. Other Requirements7.1 Acetone ImmersionThe profile strip shall not flake ordisintegrate when tested in accordance with 11.3.NOTE
23、3This is intended only for use as a quality control test and notfor use as a simulated service test.7.2 Flexural (Bending) PropertiesThe flexural rigidity(stiffness factor) shall be determined in accordance with TestMethods D790, Section on Tangent Modulus of Elasticity,Procedure B, where the equati
24、on for EBis replaced by EI =L3m/48 h. Procedure B of Test Methods D790 shall be used inthese tests. This is a qualification test that shall be performedon each distinct profile product; separate tests shall be per-formed for each PVC compound used in each distinct profileproduct. The test specimens
25、shall be made from a flat sampleprofile former strip at least 12 in. (300 mm) long, split as nearthe middle of its width as possible without cutting through a riband the outer edges joined in a joint (approximately in thecenter of the width of the specimen and running lengthwise)with the joiner stri
26、p installed in the joint. The load shall beapplied to the profiled (ribbed) side of the specimens. See Fig.2. The minimum flexural rigidity (stiffness factor) shall be1600; higher values are available by special order from themanufacturer of the product. If required by the buyer ordesignated in the
27、contract documents or purchase order, orcombination thereof, this test shall be run as a quality controltest on each production run supplying materials to the order.7.3 Joint LeakageA 10 in. (250 mm) sample joint (con-sisting of a joiner strip joining two full width panels of formerstrip) shall be p
28、ressure tested with water at 15 psig (103.5 kPa)for a maximum 25-h period to simulated ground water leakageinto the lined pipe. The maximum leakage through the jointshall be 0.00125 gal (4.7 mL) measured over a 1-h period. Thetest shall be terminated at the end of any 1-h period duringwhich this req
29、uirement is satisfied. This test shall be conductedon each production run of extruded PVC joiner strip withsamples from the extruded PVC former strip intended for usewith that production run of joiner strip. If higher hydrostatictesting pressures are required by the buyer, additional testing,as agre
30、ed between the buyer and seller shall be performed. Thetest fixture used for this test shall provide for the pressurizedwater to interface with the joint on the ribbed side of the PVCpanels such that the leakage flow is from the ribbed side to thesmooth (inner) side of the PVC panels, that is, simul
31、atesground water into liner. 32、.1 Height of Profile Former StripThe minimum height ofthe former strip shall be 0.488 in. (12.4 mm) when measured inaccordance with 11.2.18.2 Wall Thickness of Profile Former StripThe minimumaverage (arithmetic mean) wall thickness (between ribs) ofeach extruded former strip sample shall be 0.060 in
33、. (1.5 mm)and no individual measurement being less than 0.055 in. (1.4mm) when measured in accordance with 11.2.2.8.3 Width Tolerance of Former StripThe former stripsmay be produced in various widths as distinct products, forexample, produced in nominal 8 in. (200 mm) and nominal 12in. (300 mm) widt
34、hs, which are not intended for mixed use inthe same application. Tolerances on the nominal width shall be62.5 % when measured in accordance with 11.2.3.8.4 Thickness of Coextruded Elastomer SealThe thicknessof the coextruded seal, when measured in accordance with11.2.4, shall be 0.040 6 0.015 in. (1
35、.02 6 0.38 mm).9. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9.1 The extruded profile strips shall be homogeneousthroughout and free from visible cracks, holes, foreigninclusions, or other injurious defects. The extruded profilestrips shall be as uniform as commercially practical in color,opacity, density,
36、and other physical properties.10. Sampling10.1 Samples of extruded profile strip of sufficient length toconduct the necessary quality control tests shall be cut fromeach extrusion production run of a given profile designation.10.2 The frequency of sampling shall be as agreed upon bythe purchaser and
37、 the seller.10.3 Initial and retest samples shall be drawn from the sameproduction run.11. Test Methods11.1 Test ConditionsConduct tests in the standard labora-tory atmosphere of 73.4 6 3.6F (23 6 2C) and 50 6 5%relative humidity, with test specimens conditioned in accor-dance with Procedure A of Pr
38、actice D618, unless otherwisespecified in the test methods or in this specification.11.2 Extruded Profile Dimensions:11.2.1 Height of Profile Former StripMeasure the heightof the profile strip in accordance with Section 6 of Test MethodD2122 for determining wall thickness. Measurements shall bemade
39、from the smooth surface to the outer surface of the ribs.11.2.2 Wall Thickness of Profile Former StripMeasure theaverage wall thickness of the cross section in the gaps betweenribs in accordance with Section 6 of Test Method D2122.11.2.3 Width of Profile Former StripMeasure the width ofthe profile f
40、ormer strip (or panel) in accordance with Section11 of Test Method D2122.11.2.4 Thickness of Coextruded Elastomer SealMeasurethe thickness of the coextruded elstomer seal with a goodquality micrometer using standard machine shop practice.NOTE 4Any micrometer of equivalent accuracy to the tubing micr
41、om-eter specified may be used in these measurements.11.3 Acetone ImmersionTest shall be run in accordancewith Test Method D2152 on full width profile strip samples(both former and joiner strips). This procedure is used fordetermining the extrusion quality of extruded PVC profile stripas indicated by
42、 reaction to immersion in anhydrous acetone. Itis applicable only for distinguishing between unfused andproperly fused PVC.12. Retest and Rejection12.1 If the results of any test(s) do not meet the require-ments of this specification, the test(s) may be conducted againin accordance with an agreement
43、 between the purchaser andthe seller. There shall be no agreement to lower the minimumrequirement of the specification by such means as omittingtests that are a part of the specification, substituting ormodifying a test method, or by changing the specificationlimits. In retesting, the product requir
44、ements of this specifica-tion shall be met, and the test methods designated in thespecification shall be followed. If, upon retest, failure occurs,the quantity of product represented by the test(s) does not meetthe requirements of this specification.13. Inspection13.1 Inspection of the material shal
45、l be made as agreed uponby the purchaser and the seller as part of the purchase contract.14. Certification14.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, amanufacturers certification shall be furnished to the purchaserthat the material was manufactured, sampled, tested andinspected in accorda
46、nce with this specification, and has beenfound to meet the requirements. Each certification so furnishedshall be signed by an authorized agent of the manufacturer.15. Product Marking15.1 Extruded profile strip in compliance with this specifi-cation shall be clearly marked at intervals of 5 ft (1.5 m
47、) or lessas follows:15.1.1 Manufacturers name or trademark and productioncode from which plant location, machine and date of manu-facture can be identified.15.1.2 Profile type or manufacturers product name (ifdefinitive),15.1.3 The PVC cell classification, for example “12344,”and15.1.4 This designat
