These fabricated fittings are manufactured from pipe, orfrom a combination of pipe and injection molded parts.1.2 The requirements
4、 of this specification are to providefabricated PVC fittings suitable for drainage and venting ofsanitary waste systems, storm water systems, and certain otherliquid wastes. Fittings shall have solvent cement joints, gasketjoints or a combination thereof.1.3 The text of this specification references

Terminology3.1 Definitions: Definitions are in accordance with Termi-nology F 412, and abbreviations ar

Materials and Manufacture4.1 Basic MaterialsThe molded components for fabri-cated fittings shall be made of virgin or rework PVC com-pounds meeting or exceeding the requirements of Class 12454as defined in Specification D 1784.4
13、.1.1 The pipe shall be made of PVC that meets therequirements of the Materials Section of Specification D 1785or D 2665.4.2 GasketsElastomeric seals (gaskets) shall comply withthe requirements of Specification F 477 or F 913.1This standard is under the jurisdiction of Committee F17 on Plastic Piping

16、 field assembly shallbe the type recommended by the manufacturer of the fitting.Prolonged exposure to the lubricant shall not damage thegasket, pipe, or fitting.5. General Requirements5.1 Fabrication Joint MaterialThe fabrication joint ma-terial or reinforcing overlays shall be of the type, strength
17、, andproperties suitable for intended fabrication. It is the decision ofthe manufacturer as to what material will be used. The PVCprimer shall meet the requirements of Specification F 656. ThePVC solvent cement shall meet the requirements of Specifica-tion D 2564.5.2 Heat Fusion WeldsFittings assemb
18、led using the heatfusion welding process shall meet all of the requirements ofthis specification.5.3 Pipe PerformancePipe that is used to fabricate fittingsshall meet all of the schedule 40 requirements of SpecificationD 1785 or D 2665.5.4 WaterwayFabricated fittings shall be constructed sothat pipe
19、 ends of branches do not project into the waterway ofthe fitting body.5.5 Gasketed Joint System The joint shall display noleakage when tested in accordance with the requirements ofSpecification D 3212 when assembled in accordance with thefitting manufacturers recommendations. All surfaces of thejoin
20、t that contact the gasket shall be smooth and free ofimperfections, ridges, fractures or cracks that could affect theseal.6. Dimensions and Permissible Variations6.1 Spigot DiameterThe outside diameter and out-of-roundness of the fitting spigot shall meet the requirements ofTable 1 when measured in
21、accordance with 10.1.16.2 Spigot LengthThe spigot length shall meet the re-quirements as given in Table 1 when measured in accordancewith 10.1.2.6.3 Wall ThicknessThe minimum wall thickness of thefitting shall meet the requirements of Table 1 when measured inaccordance with 10.1.3. In the case of fi
22、ttings fabricated frompipe sections, the thickness of the wall in the bell and brancharea shall be considered satisfactory if it was formed from pipemeeting those requirements.6.4 Solvent Cement Sockets:6.4.1 Socket DiameterThe inside diameter of the fittingsocket shall meet the requirements as spec
23、ified in Table 2 whenmeasured in accordance with 10.1.4.6.4.2 Socket DepthsThe socket depth shall meet therequirements as given in Table 2 when measured in accordancewith 10.1.5.6.5 Gasket Joint SocketsThe minimum depth and maxi-mum projection for gasket sockets, show in Fig. 1, shall meetthe dimens
24、ional values given in Table 3. Measurements shallbe made in accordance with Test Method D 2122. All otherdimensions shall be in accordance with the manufacturersspecifications.7. Properties7.1 Resistance to BendingFabricated fittings shall betested in accordance with 10.2. The bond shall not show an
25、ysign of cracking, splitting, or separation as seen by the nakedeye.7.2 Leak TestAfter completing the Resistance to Bendingtest, the fabrication joint shall be checked for leakage inaccordance with 10.3. Fittings subjected to these tests shall bediscarded.7.3 Solvent Weld Bond AreaThe bond area for
26、the manu-facturers solvent welds shall be in accordance with themanufacturers standard design dimensions and tolerances, andthe insertion bond depth shall be not less than 0.75 in. allaround the perimeter. Joints shall be made in accordance withPractice D 2855.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8
27、.1 The fittings shall be homogeneous throughout, and freefrom visible cracks, holes, foreign inclusions, or other defects.Scratches deeper than 10 % of the wall thickness shall beconsidered unacceptable. The fittings shall be uniform in color,opacity, density, and other physical properties.9. Sample
28、 and Conditioning9.1 SamplingThe selection of fitting samples shall be asagreed upon between the purchaser and the manufacturer. Incase of no prior agreement, samples selected by the testinglaboratory shall be deemed adequate.9.2 Conditioning:9.2.1 Referee TestingThe specimen shall be conditionedin

44、 and the manufacturer as part of thepurchase contract.11.2 Inspection and testing by the purchaser shall not relievethe manufacturer of the responsibility of furnishing productmeeting the requirements of this specification.11.3 If purchaser inspection is specified, the manufacturershall notify the p
45、urchaser in advance as to the date, time, andplace of testing the product so that the purchaser may berepresented at the test.11.4 The inspector shall have free access to those areas ofthe manufacturers plant that are involved in inspection andproduct testing to be performed under this specification
46、. Themanufacturer shall provide the inspector with facilities fordetermining whether the product meets the requirements of thisspecification.12. Retest and Rejection12.1 If the results of any test(s) do not meet the require-ments of this specification, the test(s) shall be conducted againonly by agr
47、eement between the purchaser and manufacturer.Under such agreement, minimum requirements shall not belowered, changed, or modified, nor shall specification limits bechanged. If, upon retest, failure occurs, the quantity of productrepresented by the test(s) does not meet the requirements ofthis speci
