、Designation: F 473 09Standard Specification forBinding Mounting Area Dimensions on Alpine Skis andBindings1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F 473; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last

、revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers2dimensions for bindingmounting areas for alpine skis and mounting-related dimen-sions on alpine s

、ki bindings as part of an interface (“ski-binding-boot”) system, in order to optimize the compatibilityof the functional elements of the system. It contains dataneeded for the manufacture of alpine skis, and for manufac-turers of alpine ski bindings, specifically with respect to thebinding mounting

This specification is applicable toalpine skis of the following chord lengths (see TerminologyF 472 for the definition of chord length, LN):Group 1: LN$ 1700 mmGroup 2: 1400 mm # LN 1700 mmGroup 3: 1000 mm # LN 1400 mmGroup 4: 750 mm # LN 1000 mm1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be rega

、.2 binding mounting areathat portion of the top sur-face of the ski that is intended for mounting bindings. Thestandardized binding mounting area establishes the area on theski within which the entire diameter of binding screws shouldbe placed.4. Significance and Use4.1 This specification defines th

、e area wherein parts of thebinding may be mounted. Standard dimensions and location fora binding mounting area enable a ski designer to locatereinforcing elements within this area. Standard dimensions alsoenable the binding designer to determine all interface dimen-sions for binding unit size, screw
