Scope1.1 This specification covers the requirements for stainlesssteel bolts, hex cap screws, and studs 0.25 to 1.50 in., inclusive,in nominal diameter in a number of alloys in common use andintended for service applications requiring general corrosionresistance.1.2 Seven groups of stainl

4、ess steel alloys are covered,including twelve austenitic, two ferritic, four martensitic, andone precipitation hardening.Group AlloysAConditionB1 304, 305, 384, 304 L, (CW) cold workedC18-9LW, 302HQD2 316, 316 L (CW) cold workedC3 321, 347 (CW) cold workedC4 430E(CW) cold workedC5 410F(H) hardened a

Unless otherwise specified, all nuts used on thesefasteners shall conform

8、to the requirements of SpecificationF594, shall be of the same alloy group, and shall have aspecified minimum proof stress equal to or greater than thespecified minimum full-size tensile strength of the externallythreaded fastener.1.5 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standa

Ordering Information3.1 Orders for bolts, hex cap screws, and studs

18、 under thisspecification shall include the following:3.1.1 Quantity (number of pieces of each item and size),3.1.2 Name of item (bolt, hex cap screw, stud, etc.),3.1.3 Size (nominal diameter, threads per inch, length; seeSection 9),3.1.4 Alloy group number (see 6.1), and3.1.5 Condition (see 4.2).3.2

19、 Orders for bolts, hex cap screws, and studs under thisspecification may include the following optional requirements:3.2.1 Forming (see 4.1.2),3.2.2 Rolled or cut threads (see 4.1.3),3.2.3 Composition (see 6.2),3.2.4 Corrosion Resistance (see 8.1),3.2.5 Finish (see 10.3),3.2.6 Rejection (see 16.1),

20、and3.2.7 Test report (see 17.2).3.2.8 Supplementary requirements, if any, to be specified onthe order (see S1 through S8), and3.2.9 ASTM specification and year of issue. Manufacture4.1 Manufacture:4.1.1 Specifications A276, A493, A564/A564M, and A582/A582M are noted for information only as suitable sources ofmaterial for the manufacture of bolts, hex cap screws, an

22、d studsto this specification.4.1.2 FormingUnless otherwise specified, the fastenersshall be cold formed, hot formed, or machined from suitablematerial at the option of the manufacturer.4.1.3 ThreadsUnless otherwise specified, the threads shallbe rolled or cut at the option of the manufacturer.4.2 Co

Heat Treatment5.1 Alloy Groups 1, 2, and 3 (Au

26、stenitic Alloys 303, 303Se,304, 304 L, 305, 316, 316 L, 321, 347, 384, XM1, 18-9LW, and302HQ):5.1.1 Condition AWhen Condition A is specified, theaustenitic alloys shall be heated to 1900 6 50F (1038 628C), at which time the chromium carbide will go into thesolution, be held for a sufficient time, an

27、d then be cooled at arate sufficient to prevent precipitation of the carbide and toprovide the specified properties.5.1.2 Condition CWWhen Condition CW is specified, theaustenitic alloys shall be annealed in accordance with 5.1.1,generally by the raw material manufacturer and then coldworked to deve

28、lop the specified properties.5.1.3 Condition AFWhen Condition AF is specified, theaustenitic alloys shall be annealed in accordance with 5.1.1after all cold working (including heading and threading) hasbeen completed.5.2 Alloy Group 4 (Ferritic Alloys 430 and 430F):5.2.1 Condition AThe ferritic allo

29、ys shall be heated to atemperature of 1450 6 50F (788 6 28C), held for anappropriate time, and then air cooled to provide the specifiedproperties.5.2.2 Condition CWWhen Condition CW is specified, theferritic alloys shall be annealed in accordance with 5.2.1,generally by the raw material manufacturer

30、 and then coldworked to develop the specified properties.5.2.3 Condition AFWhen Condition AF is specified, theferritic alloys shall be annealed in accordance with 5.2.1 afterall cold working (including heading and threading) has beencompleted.5.3 Alloy Group 5 (Martensitic Alloys 410, 416, and 416Se

31、):5.3.1 Condition HWhen Condition H is specified, theMartensitic Alloys 410, 416, and 416Se shall be hardened andtempered by heating to 1850 6 50F (1010 6 28C) sufficientfor austenitization, held for at least12 h and rapid air- oroil-quenched, and then reheating to 1050F (565C) minimumfor at least 1

32、 h and air cooled to provide the specifiedproperties.5.3.2 Condition HTWhen Condition HT is specified, theMartensitic Alloys 410, 416, and 416Se shall be hardened andtempered by heating to 1850 6 50F (1010 6 28C) sufficientfor austenitization, held for at least12 h and rapid air- oroil-quenched, and

34、Alloy 431 shall behardened and tempered in accordance with 5.3.1 and 5.3.2 asapplicable.5.5 Alloy Group 7 (Precipitation Hardening Alloy 630):5.5.1 Condition AHPrecipitation Hardening Alloy 630shall be solution annealed and aged by heating to 1900 6 25F(1038 6 14C) for at least12 h and rapid air- or

35、 oil-quenchedto 80F (27C) maximum, then reheating to a temperature of1150 6 15F (621 6 8C) for 4 h and air cooled to provide thespecified properties.6. Chemical Composition6.1 Alloy GroupsIt is the intent of this specification thatfasteners shall be ordered by alloy group numbers, whichinclude alloy

36、s considered to be chemically equivalent forgeneral purpose use. The alloy groupings are shown as follows.The purchaser has the option of ordering a specific alloy, instead of an alloy group number, as permitted in 6.2.2.Alloy Group Alloys1 304, 304 L, 305, 384, 18-9LW, 302HQA2 316, 316 L3 321, 3474

38、wise specifiedon the inquiry and order (see Supplementary Requirement S4),the choice of an alloy from within a group shall be at thediscretion of the fastener manufacturer as required by hismethod of fastener fabrication and material availability. Thespecific alloy used by the fastener manufacturer

39、shall be clearlyidentified on any certification required by the order and shallhave a chemical composition conforming to the requirementsof Table 1 for the specific alloy.6.2.2 Ordering by Specific AlloyWhen ordered by a spe-cific alloy number, the fasteners shall conform to the chemicalcomposition

40、limits of Table 1 for the specific alloy.6.3 Product Analysis:6.3.1 When performed, product analysis to determinechemical composition shall be performed on at least one fullymanufactured finished fastener representing each lot. Thechemical composition thus determined shall conform to therequirements

41、 of Table 1 for the specified alloy or alloy group asappropriate, subject to the Product Analysis Tolerance inSpecifications A484/A484M and A555/A555M.6.3.2 In the event of discrepancy, a referee chemical analy-sis of samples from each lot shall be made in accordance with14.1.7. Mechanical Propertie

42、s7.1 The finished fasteners shall meet the applicable me-chanical property and test requirements of Table 2 and Table 3as appropriate for the specified alloy group and condition andshall be tested for conformance to the mechanical propertyrequirements as specified herein.7.2 Fasteners having a nomin
