General Requirements5.1 Piping, including valves, fittings, and flanges conveyingvapors, gases, or liquids that attain temperatures outside therange from 55 to 125F (13 to 52C) during normal operation,
24、shall be insulated except as otherwise stated herein.5.2 The insulation thicknesses specified in this practice aredesigned to maintain the surface temperature at or below 125F(52C) for fluid temperatures up to 650F (343C) with anambient temperature of 85F (29C). For fluid temperaturesabove 650F, the
25、 surface will be maintained at a maximum of133F (56C).5.2.1 Insulation thicknesses have been calculated in accor-dance with the computer programs in Practice C680.5.3 Piping and units of equipment with designated internaltemperatures of 300F (149C) and over shall be insulatedfrom their supports or t

27、 CFR, Sections164.009 and 164.012, or USCG Type Approval 164.109 and164.112 as issued by the USCG. Elastomeric foam plasticinsulation shall not be used in these spaces.5.5 Special consideration shall be given to the insulation ofintegral piping supplied with and mounted on equipment ormachinery. In
