Scope1.1 This specification covers requirements for manuals forfood service equipment which shall contain, as a min

3、imum,complete installation, operating, preventive maintenance andservice instructions, including applicable charts and diagramsand an illustrated parts data section.1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of th

4、e user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety, health, and environmental practices and deter-mine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.For specific hazards statements see Section 4.1.3 This international standard was developed in accor-dance with internationally recogn

5、ized principles on standard-ization established in the Decision on Principles for theDevelopment of International Standards, Guides and Recom-mendations issued by the World Trade Organization TechnicalBarriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.2. Significance and Use2.1 This specification applies to manuals

6、for food serviceequipment that in normal operation requires regularly sched-uled servicing, inspection, or component replacement. Therequirement for manuals for food service equipment that doesnot require regularly scheduled servicing shall be optional foreach manufacturer.3. Format3.1 Size of Paper

7、812 by 11 in. (or capable of being foldedor unfolded to 812 by 11-in. sheets).3.2 Type SizeNine point or larger for body of text; sevenpoint for footnotes and tables.3.3 GeneralPrinted copies shall be legible, and may bebound. If loose leaf they shall be furnished in a singleprotective cover. The in

8、structions portions of the manuals shallbe in simple language, easily understood by personnel respon-sible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of theequipment. Subjects difficult to present in narrative form shallbe clarified by the use of illustrations, charts, or tables withappropriat

9、e headings.3.4 Illustrations and DiagramsManuals shall contain suf-ficient illustrations (line drawings or halftones, or both) tolocate and identify components necessary for operation andcomponents that may require maintenance when their locationcannot be clearly described in the text. Where necessa

10、ry forclarity, manuals shall show configuration for the removal andreassembly of parts. As applicable, the following shall beincluded: schematic diagrams which show the functionalarrangement of components; wiring diagrams which show thephysical electrical connections of the circuit arrangement; ands

11、chematic piping diagrams which depict the interconnection ofcomponents, piping, tubing, or hose and the direction andsequence of liquid or gas flow. Diagrams shall be separate forgas and each type of liquid flow.4. Hazards4.1 Warning notices shall be used to indicate any conditionor practice that co

12、uld result in personal injury or possible lossof life.4.2 Caution notices shall be used to indicate any conditionor practice which, if not strictly observed or remedied, couldresult in damage to or destruction of the equipment.5. Unpacking Instructions5.1 When unusual unpacking conditions exist, ins

13、tructionsfor unpacking as well as the locations of manuals if provided,shall be indicated on the outside of the shipping container.6. Manual Instructions6.1 Manuals may be furnished individually, or they may becombined.6.2 Installation and Start-Up Manual Installation instruc-tions shall be furnishe

14、d with equipment showing installationrequirements. Inspection procedures for in-shipment damageshall be explained. Special installation instructions, such asfoundation, ventilation, and clearance requirements, plumbingand electrical connections, mounting details, wiring diagrams,initial lubrication

18、ent procedures and control settings shall bespecified. Installation instructions shall include a statement thatthe installation must conform to local codes or, in theirabsence, nationally recognized codes.6.3 Operation ManualOperating instructions shall be fur-nished with the equipment. Theory of op

19、eration shall beprovided for operating and maintenance personnel. Operatinginstructions shall include, but not be limited to the following:6.3.1 Explanation of the use and function of each control orinstrument used by the operator,6.3.2 Start up and shut down procedures,6.3.3 Normal operation proced

20、ures, and6.3.4 Appropriate safety instructions.NOTE 1It is suggested that the manufacturer consider a standardizedformat for the operator instructions such as the “Job PerformanceBreakdown” recommended by the National Safety Council.26.4 Maintenance ManualWhere applicable, maintenanceinstructions sh

21、all be furnished with the equipment and shallinclude separate preventive maintenance instructions forcleaning, calibration, verification, lubrication, mechanicaldrives, electrical components, corrosion, inspection points (thatis, sight glasses, gages), etc. Periodic cleaning and lubricationinformati

22、on shall be included, designating types of cleaningagents or lubricants required, lubrication frequency and inter-vals (monthly, quarterly, semiannually, hours of operation,etc.). Application points and lubrication capacity, (requiredamounts) of lubricants shall be adequately identified. Pictorialfo

23、rmat for lubrication instructions is desirable. (Cleaning andlubrication that take place during repair, replacement andreassembly, shall be covered under the instructions for theseoperations.)6.5 Service ManualInstructions suitable for use by quali-fied service personnel may be furnished with the eq

24、uipment orshall be furnished separately if requested and shall include, butnot be limited to the following:6.5.1 TroubleshootingMalfunctions that might occur dur-ing operation shall be cited. Troubleshooting data and faultisolation techniques, when used, shall indicate the symptom ortrouble. The ins

25、tructions shall include test hookups to deter-mine the cause of trouble and instructions for the restoration ofthe equipment to operating conditions.6.5.2 Repair and Component Replacement Instructionsshall be furnished in proper sequence for repairing or replacingequipment components, or both. Test,

26、 adjustment, and check-out data after reassembly shall be included. Illustrations,including exploded views, should be used as necessary.6.5.3 Special ToolsIf special tools are needed to performservicing, sources of supply shall be provided along with theappropriate tool part numbers.6.5.4 Parts List

27、A parts list shall be provided as part of theservice manual or may be furnished separately. The parts listshall provide positive identification of all replacement parts forthe equipment and shall include sufficient information to obtainreplacement parts from the parts manufacturer or the equip-ment

28、manufacturer or his authorized service agency. A world-wide list of authorized service agencies shall be furnishedwhen such an agency exists. Clear and legible illustrationsshall be provided to identify component parts and partsrelationships. Exploded views should be used wherever pos-sible. Part nu

29、mbers and part names may be shown on illustra-tions or separately listed. When the illustrations omit the partnumbers and part names, both the illustrations and separatelistings shall show either index, reference, or key numbers thatwill cross-reference the illustrated part to the listed part. Parts

30、in the listing shall be grouped by assemblies, subassemblies,and modules, with detail parts identified to the assembly ofwhich they are components. Common commercial hardwareand bulk items which are not of special design, such as bolts,washers, nuts, screws, fittings, keys, hinges, wire, cable, gask

31、etmaterial, tubing, and hose, obtainable from a wide range ofsources, may be listed by the manufacturer and show thenotation “Commercial” (or the abbreviation “Coml”) instead ofa part number. When used, the part name (nomenclature ordescription) shall be complete enough to facilitate substitutionof

32、equivalent items.SUPPLEMENTARY REQUIREMENTSThe following supplementary requirements apply to Naval shipboard procurement. Where provi-sions of this supplement conflict with Specification F760, this supplement shall prevail.S1. Technical ManualS1.1 A technical manual shall be provided with all foodse

33、rvice equipment. The manual shall incorporate the followingtopics:S1.1.1 Installation and start-up,S1.1.2 Operation,S1.1.3 Maintenance,S1.1.4 Servicing,S1.1.5 Troubleshooting,S1.1.6 Repair and component replacement,S1.1.7 Parts lists, andS1.1.8 Wiring diagrams and schematics.S1.2 CoverAll technical

34、manual covers shall include thefollowing:S1.2.1 Technical Manual Identification Number (TMIN),S1.2.2 Publication Stock Number (PSN),S1.2.3 Distribution and destruction notice statement, andS1.2.4 A barcoding label that includes the TMIN and PSN.S1.3 All naval shipboard manuals shall include the foll

36、3.6 A safety summary sheet that shall include generalsafety notices along with specific warnings and cautions thatappear elsewhere in the manual, andS1.3.7 Technical Manual Deficiency/Evaluation Report(TMDER).S2. Special ToolsS2.1 Any special tools manufactured solely for use on amanufacturers piece
