2、e year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers

3、wildcats as used in windlassesto haul in and pay out anchor chain on board ships. Anassociated chain stopper is used to secure the chain while theship is anchored, or the anchor is housed.1.2 Wildcats are of the five whelp type for use with stud linkanchor chain conforming to the American Bureau of

4、ShippingGrades 1, 2, and 3. Wildcat dimensions are provided for chainsin integral18-in. (3-mm) steps, ranging in size from34 to 418in. (19 to 104 mm). Wildcat dimensions for chains in interme-diate116-in. (1.5-mm) steps are not provided, but wildcats inthese sizes are permitted within the scope of t

5、his specification.1.3 Wildcats are configured to pass detachable links ori-ented parallel or perpendicular to the wildcat shaft centerline.1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard. This specification is for use with anchor chainthat is measured in inch-pound units.
