Terminology3.1 Definition:3.1.1 inspectora person who, through education, experi-ence, and training, is able to properly evaluate an amusementride or device to determine its conformance, within the scopeo

Significance and Use4.1 The purpose of this guide is to delineate information andrecommend inspections for amusement rides and devices.4.2 Inspection within the context of this guide is to deter-mine conformance with applicable ASTM Committee F2
8、4standards.5. Inspection Program5.1 Manufacturers Responsibility:5.1.1 The manufacturer of an amusement ride or deviceshall have a written quality assurance program as specified inPractice F 1193 for use in conjunction with the design, manu-facture, construction, modification, or reconditioning of t
9、heamusement ride or device.5.1.2 Quality assurance documents, that is, material certifi-cations, test reports, and inspection reports, shall be retainedfor a period of time as deemed appropriate by the manufactur-ers.5.1.3 The manufacturer of an amusement ride or deviceshall provide the owner/operat
10、or with a written inspectionprocedure to be delivered with the ride or device. Thedocument shall outline the inspections as contained in PracticeF 853 and Practice F 770.5.1.3.1 Any changes in the procedure prescribed in 5.1.3deemed essential by the manufacturer due to information notavailable to th

14、ch that shall have been satisfacto-rily performed by the manufacturer.5.1.4.2 Inspections are ones in which the ride or device orelement can reasonably be expected to pass during the ex-pected design life of the ride, device or element, assuming thatrecommended maintenance procedures have been follo
15、wed;and,5.1.4.3 Inspections are reasonable and are such that theowner/operator can reasonably be expected to be competent toperform or cause to be performed.5.1.5 Upon notification from an owner/operator of an inci-dent involving a critical component, the manufacturer of anamusement ride or device s
16、hall promptly evaluate this infor-mation and disseminate his findings to the original owner/operator along with any pertinent recommendations to allknown owner/operators.5.2 Owner/Operator Responsibilities:5.2.1 Owner/operators of amusement rides or devices shallhave an inspection program consistent
17、 with the inspectionsoutlined in Practices F 770 and F 853.5.2.2 Inspection documents deemed appropriate by theowner/operator to be maintained in the ride file shall be filed inaccordance with the procedures outlined in Practices F 770 andF 853.5.2.3 The owner/operator of an amusement ride or device
18、shall promptly notify the manufacturer of an incident, failure,or malfunction which, in his judgment, seriously affects thecontinued proper operation of the ride or device and isinformation of which the manufacturer should be aware.5.3 Inspector Responsibilities:5.3.1 Perform inspections complying w
19、ith all appropriatesafety procedures.5.3.2 Use inspection tools, test equipment, gages, or otherdevices as required by the inspection. Such tools, test equip-ment, gages, or other devices shall be in proper working order,and if applicable, accurately calibrated.5.3.3 Notify the owner/operator of the
20、 amusement ride ordevice of any non-conformance identified within the scope ofthe inspection.5.3.4 Provide upon owner/operators request written docu-mentation of inspection activities.6.
