Scope1.1 This specification covers stainless steel clamps for usewith four sizes of insert fittings that comply with F 1807, andcross-linked polyethylene (PEX) plastic tubing that complieswith F 876 or F 877. These clamps are intended as an alterna-tive to the copper-alloy crimp-rings of Specific
4、ations F 1807 orF 2159 for use in 100 psi (689.5 kPa) cold- and hot-waterdistribution systems operating at temperatures up to andincluding 180F (82C). Included are requirements for mate-rials, workmanship, dimensions and marking of the stainlesssteel clamps; requirements for deforming the clamps; wh

Materials and Manufacture5.1 ClampsClamps shall be made from material meetingthe requirements of Specification A 240 stainless steel UNSS304000.6. General Requirements6.1 The following sections of Specificatio
16、n F 877 constitutea part of this specification.6.1.1 Requirements,6.1.2 Test Methods, and6.1.3 Retest and Rejection.6.2 In addition, when a section with a title identical to thatreferenced in 6.1 above, appears in this specifcation, it containsadditional requirements that supplement those appearing
17、inSpecification F 877.6.3 GeneralAll performance tests shall be performed onassemblies of fittings, clamps and PEX tubing. Clamps shallmeet the material and dimensional requirements of this speci-fication. Fittings shall meet the material and dimensionalrequirements of F 1807. PEX tubing shall meet
18、the require-ments of Specification F 876 or F 877. Assembly of testspecimens shall be in accordance with 9.1.1. Each assemblyshall contain at least two (2) joints. Use separate sets ofassemblies for each performance test requirement.7. Dimensions7.1 Dimensions and TolerancesThe dimensions and tol-er
19、ances of clamps shall be as shown in Figs. 1-4.8. Workmanship, Finish and Appearance8.1 The surfaces of the clamps shall be smooth and free offoreign material. Clamps shall be free of cracks, holes, corro-sion, voids, foreign inclusions, or other defects that are visibleto the unaided eye that have
20、potential to affect the clampintegrity.9. Assembly9.1 Clamp JointsInsert fittings shall be joined to PEXtubing by deforming and locking a stainless steel clamp aroundthe outer circumference of the tubing, forcing the tubingmaterial into annular spaces formed by the ribs on the fitting.Insert fitting
21、s shall meet the dimensional and material require-ments of F 1807. PEX tubing shall meet the requirements ofSpecifications F 876 or F 877. Clamps shall meet the dimen-sional and material requirements of this specification.9.1.1 Clamping ProcedureThe clamping procedure shallbe as follows: slide the c
22、lamp onto the tubing, insert the ribbedend of the fitting into the end of the tubing until the tubingcontacts the shoulder of the fitting or tube stop. The clamp shallthen be positioned on the tubing so the edge of the clamp is18to14 in. (3.2 to 6.4 mm) from the end of the tube. Theratcheting clampi
23、ng tool shall be used to close the clamp. Failure in theretest indicates the quantity of clamps represented by thesample does not conform to the requirement

Product Marking11.1 Quality of MarkingThe marking shall be applied tothe clamps in such a manner that it remains legible afterinstallation and inspection.11.2 Content of Marking:11.2.1 Marking on clamps shall include manufacturersname or trademark, or some other identify
26、ing mark, and if sizepermits, “F 2098 for F 1807”.11.2.1.1 Where recessed marking is used on clamps, careshall be taken to see that the marking shall not cause cracks orreduce the wall thickness below the minimum specified.11.2.2 Marking on packaging shall include manufacturersname, clamp size, and
