、Designation: F2271 11 (Reapproved 2015) An American National StandardStandard Specification forPaintball Marker Barrel Blocking Devices1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F2271; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case o

Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.INTRODUCTIONThis standard is intended to outline basic performance requirements for barrel blocking device

、s. Abarrel blocking device is a critical piece of safety equipment used in the sport of paintball.Paintball is a sport that, like all sports, has intrinsic hazards. These hazards include being hit bypaintballs. Protective equipment cannot eliminate all injuries but will substantially reduce theirsev

、erity and frequency. A barrel blocking device is an additional safety device that, when meeting thisstandard and properly used, can substantially reduce the severity and frequency of injuries. Paintballmarker barrels are not all the same inside diameter, thus necessitating performance specifications

、 forbarrel blocking devices that match the barrel blocking device to a barrel diameter. This specificationis written within the current state-of-the-art of paintball marker barrel and paintball barrel blockingdevice technology. The intent is to revise this specification whenever substantive informat
