General Requirements6.1 The following sections of Specifications F 877 andF 2262 constitute a part

Measurements
24、shall be made in accordance withTest Method D 2122, except determine diameters by makingmeasurements at four locations spaced approximately 45 apartaround the circumference. Inspection and gauging of solderjoint ends shall be in accordance with ASME B16.18, ASMEB16.22,orMSSSP-104.6.4 GeneralAll perf
25、ormance tests shall be performed onassemblies of fittings, crimp rings, PEX, and PEX-AL-PEXtubing. Fittings and crimp rings shall meet the material anddimensional requirements of this specification. PEX tubingshall meet the requirements of Specification F 876. PEX-AL-PEX tubing shall meet the requir
26、ements of SpecificationF 2262. Assembly of test specimens shall be in accordancewith 9.1.1. Use separate sets of assemblies for each perfor-mance test requirement. In addition, fittings shall be designedwith sufficient overall dimensions to allow proper use of crimptool without interference with pre
27、viously completed crimps onthe same fitting.7. Dimensions7.1 Dimensions and TolerancesThe dimensions and tol-erances of fittings and crimp rings shall be as shown in Fig. 1,Fig. 3, Fig. 4, and Table 1, when measured in accordance with6.3.7.1.1 AlignmentThe maximum angular variation of anyopening sha
28、ll not exceed 1 off the true centerline axis.7.1.2 Fittings with Solder Joint EndsSolder joint endsshall be in accordance with ASME B16.22, ASME B16.18,orMSS SP-104.7.1.3 Tapered Threaded EndsFitting threads shall beright-hand conforming to ASME B1.20.1. They shall be taperthreads (NPT).8. Workmansh
29、ip, Finish and Appearance8.1 The sealing surfaces of the insert shall be smooth andfree of foreign material. Fitting walls shall be free of cracks,holes, blisters, voids, foreign inclusions, or other defects thatare visible to the unaided eye, that affect the wall integrity.9. Assembly9.1 Crimp Join
30、tsInsert fittings shall be joined to PEX, orPEX-AL-PEX, tubing by the compression of a copper crimpring around the outer circumference of the tubing, forcing thetubing material into annular spaces formed by ribs on thefitting. Insert fittings and crimp rings shall meet the dimen-sional and material
31、requirements of this standard. The dimen-sions and out-of-roundness of the crimp ring, after it has beencrimped, shall be in accordance with Table 1.9.1.1 Crimping ProcedureThe crimping procedure shallbe as follows: slide the crimp ring onto the tubing, insert theribbed end of the fitting into the e
32、nd of the tubing until thetubing contacts the shoulder of the fitting or tube stop. Thecrimp ring shall then be positioned on the tubing so the edge ofthe crimp ring is18 to14 in. (3.2 to 6.4 mm) from the end ofthe tube. The jaws of the crimping tool shall be centered overthe crimp ring and the tool
33、 shall be held so that the crimpingjaws are approximately perpendicular to the axis of the barb.The jaws of the crimping tool shall be closed around the crimpring, compressing the crimp ring onto the tubing. The crimpring shall not be crimped more than once. Each crimp shall bechecked to determine c
