、Designation: F2510/F2510M 07 (Reapproved 2013) An American National StandardStandard Specification forResilient Connectors Between Reinforced Concrete ManholeStructures and Corrugated High Density PolyethyleneDrainage Pipes1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F2510/F2510M; the number

、 immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1

、 This specification covers the design, material, and mini-mum performance requirements of resilient connectors usedfor connections between reinforced concrete structures con-forming to Specifications C478 and C913 to annular corrugatedprofile wall high density polyethylene (HDPE) drainage pipeconfor

、ming to AASHTO M252 or Specification F2306/F2306M.1.1.1 These connectors are designed to provide a positiveseal between the pipe and manholes or other structuressubjected to internal and external hydrostatic pressures lessthan 10.8 psi 74 KPa.1.1.2 Testing under this standard is limited to hydrostat

、icpressures. Alternate air and vacuum pressure testing involveunique testing protocols and are not addressed under thisstandard.1.1.3 Testing under this standard is conducted in a labora-tory as a proof of design certification. Actual field performancetesting would be accomplished and accepted under

、 individualproject performance standards or pipeline acceptance criteria, which is outside the scope of this standard.NOTE 1Infiltration or exfiltration quantities for an installed system aredependent upon many factors other than the connections between manholestructures and pipe, and allowable quant

、ities must be covered by otherspecifications and suitable testing of the installed pipeline and system.NOTE 2This specification may be applied to other types of plasticdrainage pipe. Consult with manufacturer of pipe for applicability to thisstandard.1.2 The values stated in either inch-pound units

、or SI unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text the SIunits are shown in brackets. The values stated in each systemmay not be exact equivalents: therefore, each system shall beused independently of the other. Combining values from thetwo systems may result in non-conformance wi

Test Methods and Requirements7.1 Install a pipe(s) and the resilient connector(s) to betested in the base section of a manhole or structure per the pipeand connector manufacturers recommendations. Subject theassembly to

、the prescribed hydrostatic pressure in 7.2 at thecenterline of the connector for a period of 10 min. for each testcondition. Restrain the pipe against axial movement during thetests.NOTE 5The user of this specification is advised that all safetyrequirements and procedures should be reviewed prior to

Upon completionof the test in 7.2.1 the pipe(s) shall be adjusted to provid

、e aminimum angular misalignment of 7 in any direction from theF2510/F2510M 07 (2013)2straight alignment axis and subjected to a hydrostatic pressureof 10.8 psi 74 kPa for 10 min.7.2.3 Deflection of pipe from loading. Upon completion ofthe test in 7.2.2, return pipes to straight alignment and apply a

、load to the pipe until the outside diameter of the pipe has beendeflected by 5%. The load shall be applied a distance ofone-half the pipe diameter from the manhole or structure wall. The deflection shall be calculated at the point where the load isapplied. Subject the pipe(s) and structure to a hydro

、staticpressure of 10.8 psi 74 kPa for 10 min.NOTE 6The 5% deflection criterion should not be considered as alimitation with respect to in-use deflection.7.2.4 For safety purposes and ease of set-up, pressure is notprohibited from being relieved while deflecting or loading testsections.7.3 Leakage sh
