Scope1.1 The following requirements apply to the documentationof Light Sport Airplanes. This specification covers the PilotsOperatin

3、g Handbook (POH), Flight Training Supplement(FTS), Maintenance Manual, Aircraft Kit Assembly Instruc-tions (KAI), Component Original Equipment Manufacturer(OEM) manuals, Aircraft OEMs Statement of Compliance,Registration, and Airframe Records information required foraircraft designed and manufacture

4、d in accordance with theASTM Standards.1.1.1 This specification covers the minimum requirementsfor information that shall be provided by the airplane OEM orseller of a new light sport airplane, light sport airplane kit,engines, propellers, or accessories (that is, radio, transponder,instruments, GPS

5、, etc.) as a part of the initial sale or transfer tothe first end-user.1.1.2 This specification does not apply to the sale or transferof used light sport airplane, engines, propellers, or accessories.1.2 This specification applies to airplanes seeking civilaviation authority approval, in the form of

6、 airworthinesscertificates or other like documentation.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility

Significance and Use4.1 The purpose of this specification is to provide theminimum information necessary for the proper identification,operation, and maintenance of each light spo

10、rt airplane.4.2 This specification does not define the method for docu-mentation delivery to the first end-user. Whether to providepaper, PDF, electronic records, access to the information on awebsite, or some combination shall be determined by theaircraft OEM.5. Minimum Information Requirements5.1

11、The following information shall be furnished by themanufacturer or seller at the time of sale of each airplane orairplane kit to the first end-user.5.1.1 The information plate specified in Section 6.5.1.2 The Pilots Operating Handbook (POH) specified inSection 7.5.1.3 The maintenance manual specifie

12、d in Section 8.5.1.4 The component OEMs manuals specified in Section9.5.1.5 The aircraft OEMs statement of compliance specifiedin Section 10.5.1.6 The aircraft OEMs product/component registrationinformation specified in Section 11.5.1.7 The aircraft records specified in Section 12.1This specificatio

United States15.2 The following information shall be furnished by themanufacturer or seller at the time of sale of each airplane kit tothe first end-user:5.2.1 The Airplane Kit Assembly Instruction (KAI) speci-fied in Section 13.6. Information Plate6.1 Ge

16、neralA manufacturer-issued fire proof informationplate, printed in English or as defined by the governing civilaviation authority or agency in which the aircraft was initiallysold, shall be permanently affixed to the aircraft in a visiblelocation and shall be designed to remain legible for theexpect

17、ed life of the aircraft.6.2 MaterialThe information plate shall be made fromstainless steel, not less than 0.46 mm (0.018 in.) thick; mildsteel (corrosion-protected), not less than 0.46 mm (0.018 in.)thick; or alternative materials that provide equivalent protec-tion.6.3 InformationThe information p

18、late shall contain thefollowing information.6.3.1 Serial NumberA unique identifying number or codeissued by the aircraft manufacturer.6.3.2 Name of Aircraft OEMThe name of the aircraftOEM and country.6.3.3 ModelA unique identifying name, number, or codeassigned to each manufactured type of aircraft

19、having the samebasic configuration or components and issued by the aircraftOEM.7. Pilots Operating Handbook (POH)7.1 The aircraft OEM shall deliver to the first end user of theaircraft the Pilots Operating Handbook, required by Specifi-cation F2245 in form that is readily accessible in flight.8. Mai

20、ntenance Manual8.1 The aircraft OEM shall deliver to the first end user of theaircraft the Maintenance Manual required by Practice F2483.9. Component Original Equipment Manufacturers(OEM) Manuals9.1 If the aircraft OEM has not incorporated the followinginformation into their aircraft manuals, the fo

21、llowing compo-nent OEM documentation shall be provided to the first end-user.9.1.1 Component OEM manuals for the engine, propeller,and accessories sold with the aircraft.9.1.1.1 For this standard, accessories are defined as anyassembly, subassembly, or component that requires some typeof pilot/owner

22、 maintenance or operation.9.1.2 Maintenance and inspection procedures for the engine.9.1.3 Maintenance and inspection procedures for the pro-peller.9.1.4 Component OEM manuals may remain in the style,format, arrangement, and medium (paper, PDF, etc.) providedby the component OEM. They may cover such

23、 topics as: setup,installation, adjustment, operation, repair, overhaul, other au-thorized maintenance, and parts ordering.9.1.5 Maintenance and inspection procedures foraccessories, as applicable.10. Aircraft OEMs Statement of Compliance10.1 Each aircraft shall include a statement identifying theAS

24、TM or other applicable standards used in designing andmanufacturing the product.Acopy of the statement provided tothe Civil Aviation Authority is acceptable.11. Product Registration Information11.1 The aircraft OEM shall provide any product registra-tion requirements for items not already registered

25、 by theaircraft OEM. The information transferred should define howthe first end-user registers a component OEM product such asthe engine, propeller, primary flight displays, autopilot, GPS,and navigational radios.12. Aircraft Records12.1 The aircraft OEM shall provide the aircraft recordsrequired by

26、 the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of the countrywhere the first end user will register the aircraft.NOTE 1Requirements for aircraft records are typically dictated by acombination of ASTM standards requirements and applicable CivilAviation Authority (CAA) requirements. This generally includes sucht

27、hings as airframe logs, engine logs, airworthiness certificates, operatinglimitations, etc.13. Airplane Kit Assembly Instructions (KAI)13.1 Each kit-built airplane shall have a Kit AssemblyInstructions (KAI) provided that complies with Practice F2563.14.
