3、nd test methodsfor triple profile wall polyethylene pipe and fittings. Thenominal inside diameters covered are 30 to 60 in. 750 to 1500mm.1.2 The requirements of this specification are intended toprovide pipe and fittings suitable for underground use fornon-pressure sanitary sewer systems. Pipe and

4、fittings pro-duced in accordance with this specification shall be installed incompliance with Practice D2321.1.3 This specification covers pipe and fittings with anessentially smooth interior and exterior wall using an annularcorrugated profile middle wall (Fig. 1).1.4 UnitsThe values stated in eith

5、er SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. Thevalues stated in each system may not be exact equivalents;therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other.Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.1.5 The follow

6、ing precautionary caveat pertains only to thetest method portion, Section 7, of this specification. Thisstandard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns,if any, associated with its use. The abbreviation forpolyethylene is PE.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.3 triple wall, nIn this case, the profile pipe wall con-struction provides an interior wall in the waterway, an exteriorwall to the soil, and includes ribs, corrugat

17、ions, or other shapes,which can be either solid or hollow, that helps brace the pipeagainst diametrical deformation.4. Ordering Information4.1 Orders for product made to this specification shallinclude the following information to adequately describe thedesired product4.1.1 This ASTM designation (F2

18、763) and year of issue,4.1.2 Diameters,4.1.3 Total footage of each pipe diameter involved,4.1.4 Pipe laying length,4.1.5 Fitting type(s):4.1.5.1 Size and type of fittings, including mainline andbranch diameters, and4.1.5.2 Number of fittings per diameter.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 Pipe and Fabr

19、icated FittingsThe pipe and fabricatedfittings shall be made of virgin PE material meeting therequirements of Specification D3350 with a minimum cellclassification of 435400C, except that carbon black contentshall equal to or greater than 2.0% but not exceed 3.0 % whentested in accordance with D4218

20、. Materials that have a highercell classification in one or more properties shall be permittedprovided all other product requirements are met.5.2 Rework MaterialClean rework material generatedfrom the manufacturers own pipe and fittings production ofthis product shall be permitted to be used by the

21、samemanufacturer. Rework shall be the same cell classification asnew PE compound with which it is blended and the pipeproduced shall meet all the requirements of this specification.6. General Requirements6.1 WorkmanshipThe pipe and fittings shall be homoge-neous throughout and be as uniform as comme

22、rcially practicalin color, opacity, and density. The pipe walls shall be free ofcracks, holes, blisters, voids, foreign inclusions, or otherdefects that are visible to the naked eye and that may affect thewall integrity. The ends shall be cut cleanly and squarelythrough valleys.6.1.1 Visible defects

23、, cracks, creases, splits, in pipe are notpermissible.6.2 Dimensions and Tolerance:6.2.1 Nominal SizeThe nominal size for the pipe andfittings shall be the inside diameter shown in Table 1.NOTE 1The outside diameters of products manufactured to thisspecification are not specified; therefore, compati

In no case shall the manufacturers minimum diameter with thetolerance be less than the minimum as shown in Table 1.F2763 1126.2.

28、2 Minimum Inside Diameter The minimum insidediameter shall be as shown in Table 1, when measured inaccordance with 7.3.1.6.2.3 LengthThe pipe shall be supplied in any lengthagreeable to both the owner and the manufacturer. Length shallnot be less than 99 % of stated quantity when measured inaccordan

29、ce with 7.3.2.6.2.4 Minimum Wall, Crown, Valley and Liner ThicknessThe minimum thickness of the pipe wall, crown, valley andliners shall meet the requirements given in Table 1 whenmeasured in accordance with 7.3.3.6.3 Pipe StiffnessMinimum pipe stiffness at 5 % deflec-tion shall meet the requirement

30、s given in Table 1 when testedin accordance with 7.4.NOTE 2The 5 % deflection criterion, which was selected for testingconvenience, is not a limitation with respect to in-use deflection. Theengineer is responsible for establishing the acceptable deflection limit.6.4 Pipe FlatteningThere shall be no

31、evidence of split-ting, cracking, breaking, separation of seams, separation of theouter and inner wall, or combinations thereof, when condi-tioned in accordance with 7.2 and tested in accordance with7.5.6.5 Pipe Impact StrengthThere shall be no evidence ofsplitting, cracking, breaking, separation of

32、 seams, separation ofthe outer and inner wall, or combinations thereof, when testedin accordance with 7.6 and examined under normal light andthe unaided eye.6.6 Fittings and Joining Systems:6.6.1 Only fittings fabricated from pipe made to this stan-dard and supplied by the pipe manufacturer shall be

33、 used.Fittings shall be installed in accordance with the manufactur-ers recommendations and must meet the same material andperformance requirements as the pipe.NOTE 3The fittings may be fabricated from the pipe by a variety ofprocesses including hot plate welding, spin welding or other processes.6.6

34、.2 The joining system(s) shall be of a design thatpreserves alignment during construction and prevents separa-tion at the joints.6.6.3 Pipe and fittings shall have a watertight bell/spigotjoint that complies with the laboratory tests defined anddescribed in Test Method D3212 and utilizes a gasket th

35、atcomplies with the requirements of Specification F477. Notethat special provisions must be taken in order to join field cutpipe that meets the requirements of Test Method D3212. Anycomponent used in the joining material shall be resistant toeffluents being carried in the pipe.6.6.4 LubricantThe lub

36、ricant used for assembly of gas-keted joints shall have no detrimental effect on the gasket or onthe pipe.6.6.5 Optional Bell Retaining BandsBell retaining bandsshall be made of corrosive resistant materials such as fiberglass(D4389) or stainless steel (A666).6.6.5.1 The D D4389 fiberglass roving sh

37、all be an E typeglass, free of any alkali, dirt or other impurities. The band shallconsist of a continuous, overlapping filament fiber and not afabric.6.6.6 A joint proof-of-design analysis shall be conducted onthe pipe joints using the method outlined in 7.8. Each jointproof of design pressure test

38、 shall be conducted by anindependent third party, which provides written certificationfor each analysis or test. This test is a one-time validation testfor the specific pipe diameter, profile geometry, gasket andjoint configuration supplied by the manufacturer.6.7 Slow Crack Growth Resistance PipeFo

39、r slow crack-growth resistance, the pipe shall be evaluated using the notchedconstant ligament stress (NCLS) test according to the proce-dure described in 7.7. The average failure time of the five testspecimens shall exceed 30 h with no single test specimensfailure time less than 21 h.7. Test Method

40、s7.1 Conditioning: 7.1.1 Referee TestingWhen conditioning is required forreferee tests, condition the specimens in accordance withProcedure A of Practice D618 at 73.4 6 3.6F 23 6 2C fornot less than 40 h prior to test. Conduct tests under the sameconditions of temperature. The selection of the sampl

41、e orsamples of the pipe and fittings shall be as agreed uponbetween the owner and the seller. In case of no prior agree-ment, any sample selected by the testing laboratory shall bedeemed permitted.7.1.2 Quality Control TestingCondition specimens for aminimum of 4 h prior to test in air or1hinwater a

42、t 73.4 63.6F 23 6 2C without regard to relative humidity.7.2 Test ConditionsConduct tests other than those forroutine quality control purposes in the standard laboratoryatmosphere of 73.4 6 3.6F 23 6 2C, in the referenced testmethod or in this specification.7.3 Dimensions:7.3.1 Inside DiameterMeasur

43、e the inside diameter inaccordance with Test Method D2122.7.3.2 LengthMeasure pipe length in accordance with TestMethod D2122. These measurements may be taken at ambienttemperature.7.3.3 Minimum Wall, Crown, Valley and Liner ThicknessMeasure the thickness of each wall component in accordancewith Tes

44、t Method D2122. Each specimen shall be cut perpen-dicular to the seam line of the pipe. This circumferential cutshall be made directly through a corrugation allowing a plainview of the inner wall 360 around the circumference in orderto obtain a minimum of eight measurements in accordance withTest Me

45、thod D2122. Each specimen shall also be cut along theaxis of the seam line to measure the longitudinal profiles fortwo full corrugation periods to obtain a minimum of eightmeasurements for each section thickness.7.4 Pipe StiffnessSelect three pipe specimens and test forpipe stiffness in accordance w

46、ith Test Method D2412, exceptfor the following conditions:7.4.1 The test specimens shall be at least 24 in. 609 mm inlength. However, the test specimen shall not be less than threefull corrugations in length.7.4.2 Each specimen shall be cut mid-valley to mid-valley(see Fig. 1) while still meeting or

47、 exceeding the minimumlength requirement.F2763 1137.4.3 Determine the minimum inner wall thickness andlocate the first specimen in the loading machine with theminimum inner wall thickness located at 9:00 or 3:00 whenviewing the specimen from the end. The specimen shall lie flaton the plate within 0.

48、125 in. 3 mm. Use the first location asa reference point for rotation and testing the other specimen.Rotate the other specimen 45 and 90 from the originalorientation. Test each specimen in only one position.7.5 FlatteningFlatten the three test specimens from 7.4between parallel plates until the pipe

49、 inside diameter is reducedby 40 %. The rate of loading shall be 2 in./min 50 mm/min.The test specimens, when examined under normal light and theunaided eye, shall show no splitting, cracking, breaking orseparation of the pipe walls.7.6 Impact ResistanceTest pipe specimens in accordancewith Test Method D2444, when conditioned in accordance with7.2, except six specimens shall be tested, or six impacts shallbe made on one
