The nominalinside diameters covered are 30 to 60 in. 750 to 1600 mm.1.2 The requirements of this specification are intended toprovide pipe and fittings suitable for underground use fornon-pressure sanitary sewer systems. Pipe and
4、fittings pro-duced in accordance with this specification shall be installed incompliance with Practice D2321.1.3 This specification covers pipe and fittings with a interiorwall, a exterior wall and an annular corrugated profile middlewall (Fig. 1).1.4 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pou
5、nd unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Materials and Manufacture5.1 Pipe and Fabricated FittingsPolypropylene Com-pounds Polypropylene compounds used in the manufactureof the triple wall pipe and fittings
21、 shall have the minimumproperties as shown in Table 1. Polypropylene compoundsshall be comprised of the base polypropylene virgin resin andall additives, colorants, UV inhibitors and stabilizers. Condi-tioning sampling, preparation, and testing of molded specimensshall be accordance with the require
22、ments in SpecificationD4101. For slow crack-growth resistance of the pipe corruga-tion, and inner and exterior walls, PP resins shall be evaluatedusing the notched constant ligament stress (NCLS) test accord-ing to the procedure described in 7.7.1. The average failuretime of the five test specimens
23、shall exceed 100 h with nosingle test specimens failure time less than 71 h. Compoundsshall be tested and validated on an annual basis or for any newformulations.5.2 Color and Ultraviolet Stabilization for Pipe andFittingsThe pipe shall be colored or black. Black polypro-pylene compounds shall have
24、between 2.0 and 3.0 percentcarbon black when tested in accordance with the procedures inTest Method D4218. Colored polypropylene compounds shallbe protected from Ultraviolet (UV) degradation with UVstabilizers.5.3 Rework PlasticClean polypropylene rework plastic,generated from the manufacturers own
25、production of theproduct and having the same minimum physical properties,may be used by the manufacturer, provided that the pipeproduced meets all the requirements of this specification.5.4 Elastomeric Seal MaterialsElastomeric compoundsand thermoplastic elastomeric compounds used in the manu-factur

29、5 min 25 200F2764 1025.5 LubricantThe lubricant used for assembly of gasketedjoints shall have no detrimental effect of the gasket or on thepipe.5.6 Bell Retaining BandsMonolithically formed bands inor on the external wall of the bell, when used, shall providetensile restraint to bell expansion due
30、to gasket insertion orinternal hydrostatic pressure in accordance with 6.6.4. Thesebands shall be made of corrosive resistant materials such asfiberglass (Specification D4389) or stainless steel (Specifica-tion A666).NOTE 1Compound and material properties are typically tested tovalidate a formulatio
31、n; they are not routine quality assurance tests. Usersrequiring such testing for quality assurance purposes should insert thesecriteria in their project specifications.6. General Requirements6.1 WorkmanshipThe pipe and fittings shall be homoge-neous throughout and be as uniform as commercially pract
32、icalin color, opacity, and density. The pipe walls shall be free ofcracks, holes, blisters, voids, foreign inclusions, or otherdefects that are visible to the naked eye and that may affect thewall integrity. The ends shall be cut cleanly and squarelythrough valleys.6.1.1 Visible defects, cracks, cre
33、ases, splits, in pipe are notpermissible.6.2 Dimensions and Tolerance:6.2.1 Nominal SizeThe nominal size for the pipe andfittings shall be the inside diameter shown in Table 2.6.2.2 Minimum Inside DiameterThe minimum inside di-ameter shall be as shown in Table 2, when measured inaccordance with sect
34、ion 7.3.3. In no case shall the manufac-turers stated inside diameter minus the tolerance in Table 2 beless than the required minimum inside diameter.NOTE 2The manufacturers stated inside diameter is the nominaldiameter plus or minus the inside diameter tolerances. The minimuminside diameter is the
35、smallest diameter the pipe can be with thesetolerances and is used for the hydraulic design of the pipe.NOTE 3The outside diameters and the corrugation pitch of productsmanufactured to this specification are not specified; therefore, compatibil-ity between pipe and fittings made to this specificatio
36、n from differentmanufacturers should be verified.6.2.3 Laying LengthThe pipe shall be supplied in anylaying length agreeable to both the owner and the manufac-turer. Laying length shall not be less than 99 % of statedquantity when measured in accordance with 7.3.2.6.2.4 Minimum Wall, Crest, Valley a
37、nd Liner ThicknessThe minimum thickness of pipe sections shall meet therequirements given in Table 2 when measured in accordancewith 7.3.3.6.3 Pipe StiffnessMinimum pipe stiffness at 5 % deflec-tion shall meet the requirements given in Table 3 when testedin accordance with 7.4.NOTE 4The 5 % deflecti
38、on criterion, which was selected for testingconvenience, is not a limitation with respect to in-use deflection. Theengineer is responsible for establishing the acceptable deflection limit.6.4 Pipe FlatteningThere shall be no evidence of split-ting, cracking, breaking, separation of seams, separation
39、 of theouter and inner wall, or combinations thereof, when tested inaccordance with 7.5.6.5 Pipe Impact StrengthThere shall be no evidence ofsplitting, cracking, breaking, separation of seams, separation ofthe outer and inner wall, or combinations thereof, whenconditioned in accordance with 7.1 and
40、tested in accordancewith 7.6 and examined under normal light and the unaided eye.The minimum pipe impact strength at 73F (23C) shall be 140ft-lbf (190 J).6.6 Fittings and Joining Systems:6.6.1 Only fittings and joining systems supplied or recom-mended by the pipe manufacturer shall be used. Fittings
41、 shallbe installed in accordance with the manufacturers recommen-dations and meet the same material requirements as the pipe.NOTE 5Fittings may be fabricated from the pipe by a variety ofprocesses including hot plate welding, spin welding or other processes.6.6.2 The joining system(s) shall be of a
42、design thatpreserves alignment during construction and prevents separa-tion at the joints while maintaining watertight requirements inaccordance with 6.6.3.6.6.3 Pipe and fittings shall have a watertight bell/spigotjoint that complies with the laboratory tests defined anddescribed in Test Method D32
43、12 and utilizes a gasket thatcomplies with the requirements of Specification F477. Notethat special provisions must be taken in order to join field cutpipe that meets the requirements of Specification D3212. Anycomponent used in the joining material shall be resistant toeffluents being carried in th
44、e pipe.6.6.4 Monolithic retaining bands utilized for the bells onjoining systems shall have a structural tensile resistance oftwice the operational pressure of the pipeline, but no less than21.6 psi, when tested in accordance with 6.6.3. This
49、 test is a one time validation test forthe specific pipe diameter, gasket and joint configurationsupplied by the manufacturer.6.7 Creep Rupture StrengthSpecimens fabricated in thesame manner and composed of the same materials as thefinished pipe shall have a 50-year creep rupture tensile strengthat 73F (23C) not less than 1000 psi (7 MPa), whendetermined in accordance with 7.8.6.8 Creep ModulusSpecimens fabricated in the same
