、Designation: F3226/F3226M 16Standard Specification forMetallic Press-Connect Fittings for Piping and TubingSystems1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F3226/F3226M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or, in the case of revision, th
、e year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification establishes the performance charac-teristics required for Metallic Press-Connect Fittings
、 for use inpiping and tubing systems with a maximum allowable workingpressure of three-hundred pounds per square inch (300 psi). These fittings directly attach to pipe or tube by mechanicaldeformation of the pipe or tube or fitting, or a combinationthereof, creating a seal and a restrained joint. The
、 seal may becreated via the mechanical deformation (of the pipe, tube orfitting) or created independently. Successful completion of thetests described herein constitutes completion of the technicalportion of the qualification process.1.2 The tests specified are applicable only to ascertain theperfor
、mance characteristics. These tests are not intended foruse in the evaluation of non-Press-Connect Fittings.1.3 Refer to IACS UR P2.7.4, Table-7 for Metallic Press-Connect Fittings applications.1.4 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The
、values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated wi
、th its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2.
