These instructions are equally applicable to manual (paper) and mechanized (electronic) forms of
26、 local service ordering by the customer when placing an order for service under the various providers tariffs/contracts/agreements. Many fields within the LSOG are applied on the same basis in both Canada and the United States. In Canada, the geographical equivalent of the state is known as a provin
27、ce. In cases where there is a geographic reference, “state/province” will be indicated in the field definition where applicable. The concept of LATA does not exist in Canada. Therefore, for fields where a reference is made to state in association with LATA, there will be no reference to “province” i
28、n the definition. In addition, Canadian providers are regulated at the federal level. Therefore, the fields where a reference is made to state in association with regulatory issues or requirements, there will be no reference to “province” in the definition. 1.2 DOCUMENT UPDATES This guideline is iss
29、ued to reflect changes necessary to clarify the local service ordering process as recommended by customer and provider representatives in the Ordering and Billing Forum committees. ATIS-0405070-0901 Issued March 31, 2009 1-21.3 COMMON LANGUAGE The Local Service Request does not convey licensing rights to non-COMMON LANGUAGE licensees to use the COMMON LANGUAGE code sets identified throughout the Local Service Request in their internal op
31、erations. Where COMMON LANGUAGE is provided, its intended use by non-COMMON LANGUAGE licensees is limited. Allowable uses will be specified by COMMON LANGUAGE licensee per their COMMON LANGUAGE contract. 1.4 DEFINITIONS The following list of definitions provides some of the most frequently used term
32、s in local service ordering. Refer to the tariffs/contracts/agreements for a more extensive list of the various technical references addressing local service. Alternate Circuit-Switched Voice/Circuit-Switched Data (CSV/CSD) An ISDN Basic Rate Interface (BRI) Bearer (B) channel configuration that all
33、ows either circuit switch voice or data communication. Alternate Network Service Agreement (ANSA) An arrangement that allows end users who reside in areas where the central office switch does not support ISDN BRI to receive the service from a neighboring central office. Automatic Location Informatio
34、n or Identification (ALI) ALI is the use of a data base to associate a physical location with a telephone number when working with Automatic Number Identification. For E-9-1-1, this is the automatic display at the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) of the callers telephone number, the address/loca
35、tion of the telephone and supplementary emergency services information. Basic Rate Interface (BRI) A defined interface to ISDN that includes two B channels and one Data (D) channel, commonly referred to as 2B+D. Bearer channel (B channel) A 64 Kilobits per second (Kbps) B channel used for delivering
