Paragraphs in ANSI/J-STD-025-B that are not shown remain the same. The section numbering in section 3 of this document aligns with the original sec

Section Revisions Text for ANSI/J-STD-025-B addendum adding MEID: Section 3 Definitions and Acronyms Mobile Equipment IDentifier (MEID): a 56-bi

40、t mobile equipment identifier used for new terminals as the alternative to the 32-bit ESN. Although ESNs have always been unique in the past, the introduction of the 56-bit MEID has led to creation of a 32-bit “pseudo-ESN” (pESN) for backward compatibility with legacy systems. A Pseudo-ESN (0x80 as

41、its Manufacturer Code, followed by the 24 least significant bits of the SHA-1 hash of the 56 bit MEID) is used when MEID isnt implemented in a system. The pESN is still the same for each particular mobile. If more than one mobile derive the same pESN from their MEIDs, then there is the potential for
