IntroductionThe American Welding Society (AWS) Board of Directorshas adopted a policy whereby all official interpretationsof AWS standards are handled in a formal manner.Under this policy, all interpretations
41、 are made by thecommittee that is responsible for the standard. Officialcommunication concerning an interpretation is directedthrough the AWS staff member who works with thatcommittee. The policy requires that all requests for aninterpretation be submitted in writing. Such requests willbe handled as
42、 expeditiously as possible, but due to thecomplexity of the work and the procedures that must befollowed, some interpretations may require considerabletime.A2.
