It supersedes BS 1902-3.0:1981, which is withdrawn. This Sectio

6、n serves as an introduction to the whole of Part 3 of BS 1902, the general arrangement of which is shown in Table 1, together with a list of the Sections of Part 3. The Sections are published separately. The methods of test described in the Sections of Part 3 are either updated versions of the metho

7、ds originally described in Parts 1A:1966 and 1B:1967 or are based on corresponding work by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The details are indicated in each Section. Each method in Part 3 is suitable for use as a laboratory method, or as a referee method, unless otherwise s

8、tated in the scope of the Section concerned. Any appendices to the Sections of Part 3 describe alternative methods, or alternatives to some portions of the methods, which may be used in the circumstances described in the introduction to the appendix concerned. Unless otherwise specified in the scope

9、 of the Section concerned, each method is applicable to both dense shaped and shaped insulating products. Sections 3.1, 3.2 and 3.13 are of general application, not only to the remaining Sections of Part 3 but also, where appropriate, to Sections of other Parts. A British Standard does not purport t

10、o include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application.
