、y of polyvinyl chloride sheet to deteriorate in service through loss of plasticizer. It is an editorial revision of method 110A of BS2782:1970, which is being withdrawn. WARNING NOTE. This method does not necessarily detail all precautions necessary to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety
、at Work etc. Act 1974. Attention should be paid to any appropriate safety precautions, and the method should be operated only by trained personnel. 1 Scope This method describes a procedure for assessing the tendency of polyvinyl chloride sheet, of thickness not exceeding 0.9 mm, to deteriorate in s
、ervice through loss of plasticizer by volatilization. NOTEThe titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover. 2 Principle The extensibility test described in BS 2782:Method 150C is applied, but at room temperature, to material that has been heated for24 h
、 at 100 C over activated carbon. 3 Form and number of test specimens The form and number of test specimens shall be as specified in BS 2782:Method 150C. 4 Procedure Test the specimen for extensibility in accordance with BS 2782:Method 150C except for the following. a) Before test, heat the specimen
、at 100 C for 24 h in the presence of activated carbon with the apparatus and under the conditions specified inMethod 465B of BS 2782:Methods 465A and465B. and b) Keep the specimen, after removal from the cage, at 23 2 C for not less than 3 h and test for extensibility at 23 2 C. Use the average grav

、, manufacturers code number etc.; b) a reference to this British Standard method, i.e. BS 2782:Method 131B:1983; c) the extensibility after heat ageing of the material; d) when necessary, the direction of the major axes of the test specimens in relation to the direction of some feature of the sheet;
、 e) the individual test results; f) the conditioning, if any, of the test specimens.2 blankBS2782-1:Method131B:1983 BSI 12-1999 Publications referred to BS 2782, Methods of testing plastics.
