It is a revision of BS 2S 145 : 1976, which is superseded and withdrawn. The standard has been converted to the AECMA format and conforms to BS EN 4500 1) . The
12、 fully heat treated condition has been added as an option for condition of supply of forgings, black bar and bright bar . The units given in line 20 of the tables for Izod impact strength are ft lbf because Izod testing machines are calibrated in imperial units. Compliance with a British Standard do

19、to those specified in tables 1, 2 or 3 according to the form. All material supplied shall conform to the requirements appropriate to its dimensions and condition as specified in the standard given in line 5 of the tables. 3.2 Symbols and units shall conform to BS EN 4500-1, BS EN 4500-5, BS 5555 and
20、 BS 5775 : Part 0. 3.3 One sample shall be taken from each ingot for sulfur printing or deep etching tests. 3.4 The material shall be overall dressed. 3.5 Billets and bars and, where practicable, forgings shall be subjected to ultrasonic examination. 3.6 Parts finally heat treated after machining sh
21、all conform to British Standard S100 sections 1 and 7. 3.7 Parts shall be supplied in the fully heat treated condition. NOTE.
