Multiplication of these two figures gives the minimum yield stress inkgf/mm 2 . Screws and nuts to this standard are not normally subjected to test,
12、but where this is required the purchaser shall state so in his enquiry and order. 3.4 If the purchaser requires steel screws and nuts to be manufactured from material of a higher tensile strength, or from another material, this shall be subject to agreement between the purchaser and the supplier. 4
13、Coating of screws and nuts If the purchaser requires the screws or nuts to be coated, he shall state the coating required in his enquiry and order. It is recommended that the coating should comply with the appropriate part of BS3382 3) . 5 General dimensions 5.1 Screws. The general dimensions and to
14、lerances for screws shall be as given inTable 2 toTable 5 inclusive and Clause6 to Clause12 inclusive. 5.2 Nuts. The general dimensions and tolerances for nuts shall be as given inTable 8 and Clause7. 6 Heads of screws 6.1 The screw heads shall be concentric with the shank within tolerance grade IT1
15、3 using the head diameter as datum. SeeTable 6. 6.2 The slots and recesses shall be clean and free from burrs and shall be concentric with the head within tolerance grade IT13 using the head diameter as datum. SeeTable 6. 6.3 The depth of slot (dimension t) shall be measured from the top of the head
16、 to the point at which the slot breaks through. 6.4 The depth of the recess shall be such that when measured using the method and gauge described inAppendix A the penetration of the gauge into the recess conforms to the penetration values given inTable 2A,Table 3A andTable 4A. 7 Screw threads 7.1 Ge
17、neral. The screw threads shall be ISO metric coarse pitch series threads in accordance with BS3643-1 4) . 7.2 Screws. The external threads shall conform to tolerance Class6g limits (medium fit) as given in BS3643-2 4) . 7.3 Nuts. The internal threads shall conform to tolerance class6H limits (medium
18、 fit) as given in BS3643-2 4) . 8 Nominal length of screws 8.1 Countersunk head.
