For some years the UnitedKingdom has participate

As international agr

The text of the International Standard has been approved as suitable for publication, without deviation, as a BritishStandard. Some terminology and cert
14、ain conventions are not identical with those used in British Standards; attention is especially drawn to the following. The comma has been used throughout as a decimal marker. In British Standards it is current practice to use a full point on the baseline as the decimal marker. Wherever the words “I
15、nternational Standard” appear, referring to this standard, they should be read as “British Standard”. Additional information WARNING NOTE. Care should be taken to avoid breathing the vapour of halogenated hydrocarbons. All operations likely to produce an appreciable concentration in the atmosphere s
16、hould be conducted under a hood with an adequate exhaust. This standard specifies a method of test only and should not be referred to as a specification defining limits of purity. Reference to the standard should be in the form of words indicating that the method of test used conforms to the require

21、der specified conditions, using special apparatus, and weighing of the residue after evaporation. 4 Apparatus Ordinary laboratory apparatus and 4.1 Jacketed glass container, with ground glass stopper, and a graduation line marking a capacity of500ml. (See the Figure.) NOTEDo not use grease in ensuri
22、ng that the ground glass joints are leak-proof. 4.2 Detachable element, with a ground glass joint. (See the Figure.) 4.3 Electric oven, capable of being controlled at105 2 C. 4.4 Heating device (water bath, small electric oven or heating tape). 5 Procedure Dry the detachable element (4.2), in the el
23、ectric oven (4.3), controlled at105 2 C, for30min, allow to cool in a desiccator, weigh to the nearest0,0001g and connect it to the glass container (4.1). Weigh, to the nearest1g, the cylinder containing the sample (see ISO3427). Fill the apparatus to the500ml graduation line with the liquid sample
24、and reweigh the cylinder to the nearest1g. Determine the mass of the test portion by difference. By means of the heating device (4.4), heat the detachable element (4.2) uniformly in such a way that the evaporation of the test portion is completed in1,5 to2h. Stop heating, dry the detachable element
25、in the electric oven (4.3), controlled at105 2 C, for30min, allow to cool in a desiccator and reweigh to the nearest0,0001g. The increase in mass corresponds to the non-volatile residue of the test portion. 6 Expression of results The non-volatile residue, expressed in milligrams per kilogram, is gi
26、ven by the formula where NOTE500ml of sample corresponds to 740g of trichlorofluoromethane (CCl 3 F) 745g of dichlorodifluoromethane (CCl 2 F 2 ) 705g of chlorodifluoromethane (CHClF 2 ) 7 Test report The test report shall include the following particulars: a) an identification of the sample; b) the
27、 reference of the method used; c) the results and the method of expression used; d) any unusual features noted during the determination; e) any operation not included in this International Standard or in the International Standard to which reference is made, or regarded as optional. m 0 is the mass,
28、 in grams, of the test portion; m 1 is the mass, in milligrams, of the non-volatile residue weighed. 1 000 m 1 m 0 -BS5598-8:1980 2 BSI 11-1999 Figure Apparatus for determination of non-volatile residue of fluorinated hydrocarbonsBS5598-8:1980 BSI 11-1999 Publications referred to See national forewo
