It supersedes BS 5867-1:1980, which is withdrawn. While a consumer is likely to be interested primarily in such properties as co
6、lour-fastness and dimensional stability, fire safety advisers might be interested primarily in the flammability aspects of a product. For this reason, BS 5867 is divided into two parts: Part 1: General requirements; Part 2: Flammability requirements. Either part may be used individually or both part
7、s may be used together, though it is stressed that a fabric conforming only with the requirements of Part 2 might not be satisfactory for use as a curtain fabric. Except where otherwise indicated, these requirements also apply to fabrics for window blinds. 2 Normative references The foll

13、ch batch or from at least every 5 000 m, which is of sufficient size to provide the required test specimens. 4 Performance requirements 4.1 General A fabric which is colour-fast in accordance with 4.2 and demonstrates dimensional stability in accordance with 4.3 shall be regarded as cleanable both b
14、y washing and dry-cleaning. Where fabric is supplied with restrictions regarding cleaning, it need not meet the requirements excluded by such restrictions. Any restricted serviceability shall be indicated in the instructions concerning care (see Clause 5). 4.2 Colour-fastness NOTE The requirements f
15、or colour-fastness to washing and/or dry-cleaning do not apply to window blind fabrics. When tested in accordance with the methods given in BS EN ISO 105, the colour-fastness of the fabric shall conform to Table 1. 17、sional stability do not apply to window blind materials. 4.3.1 General The appropriate test method for dimensional stability shall be selected from 4.3.2 and/or 4.3.3 and shall be reflected in the information to be given on care of the fabric (see Clause 5). NOTE Handling during making-up can cause
18、extension which could lead to dimensional changes in the made-up curtain that differ from the values given in 4.3.2 and 4.3.3. 4.3.2 Dimensional stability to washing When tested in accordance with the appropriate method given in BS EN ISO 6330, the mean dimensional change in width and length of the
19、fabric as a result of washing shall not exceed 3 %. 4.3.3 Dimensional stability to dry-cleaning When tested in accordance with the method given in BS EN ISO 3175-1, the mean dimensional change in width and length of the fabric as a result of dry-cleaning shall not exceed 3 %. 5 Labelling Each roll o
20、f fabric shall have a label, attached in such a way that it can be retained with the roll, giving the following information. For fabrics supplied against a pattern, the information shall be available with the pattern. a) The number and date of this British Standard, i.e. BS 5867-1:2004 1) . b) The m
21、anufacturers name, trademark or other means of identification. c) Instructions on any precautions to be taken concerning care, including cleansing of the curtain, drape or blind to be manufactured from the fabric, using an appropriate care labelling symbol in accordance with BS EN 23758 and taking a
22、ccount of the performance requirements specified in Clause 4. If the fabric is unsuitable for cleansing, this shall be stated on the label. d) Fibre content of the fabric as required by The Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1. NOTE Labelling requirements relating to flammab
23、ility are given in BS 5867-2. 1) Marking BS 5867-1:2004 on or in relation to a product represents a manufacturers declaration of conformity, i.e. a claim by or on behalf of the manufacturer that the product meets the requirements of the standard.
