It is the intention that BS6091 will ultimately replace BS216:1961 “Vulcanized fibre sheet for electrical purposes” and BS934:1940 “Vulcanized fibre (natural colour) rods and tubes for electrical purposes”. A decision on the withdrawal of those standards will be taken at an appropriate stage in th

The text of the international standard has been approved as suitable for publication as a British Standard without deviation. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identi

Where, in the introduction, the words “standard is one of a series which” appear, they should be read as “Part of this British Standard”. In the second sentence of the introduction, the word “series” should be

13、read as “British Standard”. Additional information. The scope of the international standard covers all Parts of this standard and it should be understood that Part1 of this British Standard is limited as indicated by its title to the specification of general requirements for the materials described

14、in clause1. The “note” at the end of clause4 should be read as part of the clause. Cross-references. In the introduction, the parts of the international standard that are referred to, namely “2. Methods of test.” and “3. Specification requirements for individual materials.” are IEC667-2 1)and IEC667

Sheets are available in the limited thickness range of0.8mm to12mm. 3.2 Type B This type is considered as the g

It possesses good physical and electrical properties and can be fabricated satisfactorily by punching. 3.3 Type C This type is intended primarily for applications involving difficult bending or forming operations. It is available in sheet and roll form only and in thicknesses fr

The colours in which the material is normally supplied are in natural grey, black or red. In any of these colours c

24、onsiderable variation in the shades may be expected from batch to batch. NOTEAll types may be supplied in any agreed shape, for example channels. When the basic materials are used they shall comply with the requirements of this standard. 5 General requirements 5.1 Quality The material shall be unifo

It shall be free from blisters, cracks and be reasonably free from wrinkles, scratches and dents. 5.2 Finish Sheets shall be uniformly finished with a smooth matt surface and shall be free fr
