16、al containers and aerosols BS EN 10203:1991, Specification for cold reduced electrolytic tinplate 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this British Standard the terms and definitions given in BS 3130-4:1976 and the following apply. 3.1 soldered screw neck screw neck manufactured as a separate
17、 component and designed to be fitted to a metal container by soldering 3.2 “U” type screw neck screw neck manufactured as a separate component, the bottom of which is turned outwards and upwards to form a “U” section and fitted to the metal container by clinching 3.3 integral screw neck screw neck w
18、hich is formed as an integral part of the metal container body 3.4 tamper evident device device designed to be fitted to a container in such a way that damage to it, or its removal, indicates that the container may have been opened or tampered with in some way 4 Materials 4.1 Screw necks Soldered sc
19、rew necks and “U” type screw necks shall be manufactured from tinplate conforming to BS EN 10203. NOTE Improved leak resistance can be achieved with the aid of a rubber lining in the “U” section. 4.2 Screw caps Screw caps shall be manufactured from tinplate conforming to BS EN 10203. All screw caps
20、shall be fitted with a wad to act as the closure seal. NOTE Various designs of wad are available in laminated fibre or plastics materials. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that the wad is compatible with the intended contents of the metal container. 4.3 Inner seals Inner seals may
21、 be manufactured from tinplate, aluminium or aluminium alloy. 5 Dimensions 5.1 General The screw necks, screw caps and inner seals specified in this British Standard are of the following nominal diameters: 18 mm, 25 mm, 38 mm, 59 mm and 78 mm. 5.2 Screw necks 5.2.1 Soldered screw necks The dimension
