This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by July 2010, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by July 2010. Attention is drawn

This document supersedes EN 1313-1:1997. This standard is one of a series concerning sawn timber. Compar
16、ed to EN 1313-1:1997, the following modifications have been made: a) Amendment A1:1999 has been incorporated; b) A new Table 2 giving target cross-sectional sized based on metric measure has been added and tables given in Annex A have been modified accordingly; c) In Annex A: Table A.5 “Complementar

20、reference moisture content and adjustments for changes in size due to changes in moisture content. Preferred sizes for thicknesses of 38 mm and over are also specified. This standard applies to softwood sawn timber. An informative annex gives complementary national sizes. NOTE A.5 includes for Franc

24、en in EN 844-1:1995, EN 844-3:1995, EN 844-4:1997 and EN 844-6:1997 apply. 4 Reference moisture content The reference moisture content is 20 %. The target sizes in Clause 7 are applied at this moisture content. 5 Change in size due to changes in moisture content Unless there is evidence to the contr
25、ary, it shall be assumed that the thickness and width of a piece of timber will increase by 0,25 % every 1 % of moisture content higher than 20 % up to fibre saturation point, and decrease by up to 0,25 % every 1 % of moisture content lower than 20 %. The above values are independent of the species.
26、 6 Permitted deviations The average thickness and the average width shall not be less than the target sizes. BS EN 1313-1:2010EN 1313-1:2010 (E) 5 Permitted deviations of cross-sectional sizes at 20 % moisture content are as follows: For thickness and width 100 mm: + 3 mm / - 1 mm; For thickness and
27、 width 100 mm: + 4 mm / - 2 mm. For length: no minus tolerance, plus tolerance agreed by contract. 7 Common traditional target cross-sectional sizes Sizes shall be measured according to EN 1309-1.
