This Europea

15、n Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2007, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by May 2007. Annex A provides details of significant technical changes between thi

16、s European Standard and the previous edition: EN 1498:1996. This document supersedes EN 1498:1996. 22、rescue loop body-holding device designed and constructed as a component of a rescue system consisting of elements designed and constructed so that, during the rescue process, the rescuee is held and kept in a defined position 3.2 rescue loop class A rescue loop designed and constructed in such a way

23、 that, during the rescue process, the rescuee is held by the straps of the rescue loop passing around the back and under the arms NOTE See Figure 1. EN 1498:2006 (E) 7 4 Requirements 4.1 Ergonomics The width of the primary straps shall be at least 40 mm. 4.2 Materials and construction 4.2.1 General Mate

30、rials that may come into contact with the skin of a user shall not be known to cause irritating or sensitization effects during normal use of the rescue loop. 4.2.2 Webbings and yarns Webbings and yarns shall be made of filament or multifilament synthetic fibres, suitable for the use intended. The b

31、reaking tenacity of the synthetic fibres shall be known to be at least 0,6 N/tex. Threads used for sewing shall be physically compatible with the webbing and their quality shall be comparable to that of the webbing. They shall, however, be of a contrasting shade in order to facilitate visual inspect

32、ion. 4.2.3 Construction When checked in accordance with 5.1, the rescue loop shall have no sharp edges and burrs that may cause injury to the user. The rescue loop shall be designed so that, when tested in accordance with 5.2.3.1, inadvertent release of the rescuee from the rescue loop is prevented.

33、 It shall be possible to inspect visually each element and component of the rescue loop. 4.2.4 Attachment The rescue loop shall have at least one attachment point. The eyes of each attachment element shall have a diameter of 25 mm. 4.2.5 Connectors Connectors shall conform to EN 362. 4.3 Dynamic str

34、ength When tested in accordance with 5.2 with a torso dummy for rescue loops classes A and B, and with a test mass for rescue loops class C, with a mass equivalent to the maximum rated load, but at least 100 kg, the torso dummy or test mass shall be held and no primary strap or attachment element of

35、 the rescue loop shall break or rupture. No element of the rescue loop shall become detached. If the rescue loop has more than one attachment point, the test shall be carried out at each attachment point. 4.4 Static strength When tested in accordance with 5.3 with a force of 10 times the maximum rat

36、ed load, but at least 15 kN, applied for 3 min, no primary strap or attachment element of the rescue loop shall break or rupture. No element of the rescue loop shall become detached. If the rescue loop has more than one attachment point, the tests shall be carried out at each attachment point. EN 14

37、98:2006 (E) 8 4.5 Corrosion resistance Metal parts of the rescue loop shall be tested in accordance with 5.4. After the test, they shall show no evidence of corrosion that would affect their function (white scaling or tarnishing is acceptable if the function is not impaired). NOTE Conformity with th

38、is requirement does not imply suitability for use in a marine environment. 4.6 Marking and information Marking of the rescue loop shall be in accordance with Clause 6. Information shall be supplied with the rescue loop in accordance with Clause 7. 5 Test methods 5.1 Examination of design Verify the

39、width of each primary strap by measuring it with a steel rule. Confirm by reference to appropriate documentation and by visual and/or tactile examination of the rescue loop that it meets the requirements of 4.2.Verify the opening of the eye of each attachment element by passing a rod with a diameter

40、 of (25 + 10) mm through the eye. 5.2 Dynamic strength test 5.2.1 Test apparatus The test apparatus for the dynamic test of rescue loops classes A and B shall conform to 4.2, 4.4 and 4.6 of EN 364:1992. The test apparatus for the test of the rescue loop class C shall conform to 4.4 and 4.6 of EN 364

41、:1992 and to Figure 4. This shall be a rigid structure having a hard and smooth surface. Dimensions in millimetres Figure 4 Test form for the test of a rescue loop class C 5.2.2 Test lanyard The test lanyard shall be an unused sample of mountaineering rope, which shall conform to EN 892 for single r

42、ope, have a nominal diameter of 11 mm and be known to have an impact force of (9 1,5) kN in the first impact force test in that standard. EN 1498:2006 (E) 9 Terminate the rope in loops produced by tying bowline knots (see Figure 5) and ensure the length of the termination loop is a maximum of 200 mm

43、. Adjust the length so that, under a load of (100 + 10) kg, the length of the test lanyard including the eyes to be formed at the two ends is (2 000 + 1000) mm (see Figure 6). Connect one termin

45、ation loop of the test lanyard to the attachment point of the rescue loop and the other to the test apparatus.Suspend the torso dummy by means of the rescue loop, then raise it by (1 000 + 500) mm with a maximum distance of 300 mm from the centre line (see Figure 7). 47、ue loop without initial velocity. Check the position of the torso dummy in the rescue loop and check whether any element of the rescue loop has become detached. Check the primary straps and attachment elements for signs of breaking or rupture. EN 1498:2006 (E) 11 Within 15 min, carry out a second dr

48、op test using the same test lanyard. Readjustment of the rescue loop to the torso dummy is permitted. Check the position of the torso dummy in the rescue loop and check whether any element of the rescue loop has become detached. Check the primary straps and attachment elements for signs of breaking

49、or rupture. Repeat the test for each attachment point. Readjustment of the rescue loop to the torso dummy or replacement of the rescue loop is permitted. 5.2.3.2 Test procedure for rescue loops class C Carry out the test described in 5.2.3.1, but with a test mass in accordance with 4.5 of EN 364:1992 instead of the torso dummy.
